Hi, we're travelling around from tomorrow until August 24. We understand our schedule's kinda cramped. Feel free to suggest anything about our itinerary. If you think, we should spend more time in a place, or take another mode of transportation, feel free to comment please.

Day 1 - Bangkok - take a train to Cambodia (we've been to bangkok a few times so we prefer going somewhere else this time.

Days 2 and 3- Siem Reap

Would you recommend staying in Mekong Delta for two days with homestay at local people? Read this in another thread?

Day 4 - Take a boat from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh

Days 5 and 6- Phnom Penh

Day 7- Take a bus from Phnom Penh to Kao San road

Day 8- Fly from Bangkok to Udon Thani and arrive at Vientiane

Days 9 and 10- Vientiane

Day 10 evening- Take a bus or van from Vientiane to Luang Prabang

Days 11 to 14- Luang Prabang

Day 15- Take a bus from Luang Prabang to Vientiane , go to Udon Thani and fly from there

We're a couple and we prefer to spend our last week on the beach. I saw that there are some cheap flights from Udon Thani to Phuket. Or another option as well is to go back to Bangkok and travel to Koh Samui.

Days 16-22- Beach

Day 23- Travel back to Bangkok

Day 24- Leave Bangkok

Thanks in advance for your comments! The only booked hotel we have here is our hotel in Siem Reap for two nights so all others are subject to changes based on your comments. We also haven't booked flights.

I understand it's easier to go to Vietnam from Cambodia. It's just that we've been to Hanoi. and my boyfriend said he remembers the visa being too expensive for a few days stay. So it might not be worth it to go to Vietnam again.

Train will only get you to the border at Aranya Prathet, then look at shared taxi to SR. There is no "Mekong Delta" in Cambodia. Bangkok - Vientiane - Luang Prabang can be a Loonngg trip, especially doubling back the same way. Air Asia now has cheap flights on this route.
