off-grid place far from the crowds

Hi everyone!
Maybe some of you could suggest some really "basic" and quiet places, maybe without internet and electricity, or just generators some hours per day. I am not afraid of living on a low standard, and not because of the budget aspect, but because I actually enjoy it... Nice nature and, friendly locals, and environmentally conscious backpackers and a quiet atmosphere, are just a few things I am looking for... I am open to all sort of places: villages, mountains, islands... Please let me know if you've been to or heard of such a place.

Check out Chi Phat in Cambodia (lots of info on this site)
https://www.travelfish.org/location/cambodia/southern_cambodia/koh_kong/chi_phat

I am not sure but the village was aiming to get connected to the grid so might now have 24hour electricity.
The locals are very friendly and if you stay in a homestay then you can really get to know the family

I am a regular visitor to the village so if you want more info let me know but just promise me if you visit you will not steal my hammock!!"
