Has anyone had any experience with having to provide bank statements when applying for a 60 day tourist visa? I've never had to provide them before, but this time I've read that the requirements are AU$600/week... which roughly equates to 50,000,000 rupiah per person for a 2 month stay in Indonesia. Not sure why they'd require that, but here is the reference.
I've also seen similar references with different monetary requirements on the London embassy and Melbourne consulate websites. What's your view?

hey mooball, i had a similar experience when applying through the sydney consulate in april, just before the executions. Had to email my statements to them as they were temporally closing the next day...

You don't need any bank statement. Just apply for visa and enjoy trip to Bali.

So... How do you explain gecktrek having to provide bank statements?

hey mooball, perhaps its just a requirement for the 60 day visa. I spent approx. au$200 per week going through lembata & flores so far... arrived in sumba today... they didn't specify an amount when i applied, but $600/week would seem more than enough!

@gecktrek $200 a week through Flores is pretty good going - especially Australian dollars!

hey somtam, it's certainly doable, although with a flight to sumba and the current fuel shortages here, things should be quite a bit more expensive...
