1 week in bali! HELP

Posted by danahosn on 25/4/2016 at 04:34

Taking you're advice about spending the perfect week in bali, a friend and I decided to do 2 nights in Seminyak/Kuta + 2 nights in Ubud + 2 nights in North (Singaraja probably) - to get the best experience because it's our first time there.

I need help about transportation and accommodation. What's the best way to go about it. Start off in south and go up and start off in north and go down? Since the airport in the south and we arrive & leave from there?

And where do you recommend is a safe yet fun place to stay for 2 girls?

PLEASE ADVISE!

Hi,

As you'll be flying in and out of the same airport, it doesn't really matter which order you do things in -- if you are intent on heading to the north, I'd suggest Lovina over Singaraja.

As far as logistics go, with two people I would say:

Airport to Seminyak: Taxi (150,000 rupiah with a airport cab, 90,000 if you grab one at arrivals)
Seminyak to Ubud: Taxi (250,000 rupiah)
Ubud to Lovina: Transport (minibus thing - ask around in travel agents and you should be able to find one going at a reasonable price, otherwise you'll need to hire a car & driver)

Accommodation - what sort of budgat you looking at?

Cheers

Lovina it is.

would you advise it would be more reasonable to hire a car and driver for the entire week? since we are going to be needing lifts to the different areas we would be visiting.
Do you have an estimate of how much that would cost?

For accommodation, we care about location and safety- nothing expensive but wouldn't mind spending a bit more to guarantee that.

Ahh for a car and driver - maybe 500-600,000 per day (for a car with driver) -- would depend on length of hire, where you are going etc. Your plan is pretty straightforward - not a lot of random touring around, so probably don't really need a driver, but sure, handy to have and saves you having to find a new driver for each leg.

Hello,

Most of Bali Car rental provide driver for 10 hour contract start around IDR 500,000 for 10 hour, and IDR 45,000 for overtime drive. That price is for 1 day contract. Several of them offer different price for 3 days contract above.
There is several website you can see here :
1. http://www.balibestcarrental.com/carlist.html
2. http://www.sewamobilbalipalingmurah.com/
Usually, at the Ngurah Rai Airport, they have a stand that offer a car rental to any guest that just arrive at Bali.
Or, you hire a local driver to show you around Bali at a considerable price. (I have one recommendation, because my friend already use his service).

Do you ever thought about self driving in Bali? It's a lot cheaper I guess. But the choice is all yours. Feel free to choose any of the option available.

Thank you!! thats very helpful!
who is your recommendation?

Id prefer to be with a driver rather than driving myself because I am completely unfamiliar with the country and would prefer having a local who knows the best roads.

Best,
D.

If you're after another suggestion, can recommend Putu, I've known him for years and he's a reliable guy with simple English.

You can contact him via Facebook at the following:

https://www.facebook.com/putujuliarta.putudriver?fref=ts

He charges 500,000 rupiah per day (ubud area) and 650,000 per day (greater Bali) - that includes petrol.

He's legally licensed and drives a Toyota Avanza (a common style of car here).

Cheers!
