Booking Komodo trip on arrival

Posted by brettjayhawk on 25/10/2016 at 08:22

First time in Indonesia and as a solo traveler I'd like to go see Komodo and see the dragons. I'm looking at doing a 3day/2night boat trip but I'm looking at arriving in LBJ the night before I want to head out on the trip potentially. I know it'll be cheaper if I find a operator when I get there but is it also possible to book something when I arrive in Bali the 3-4 days before my plan to leave for LBJ?

Yes you can book in advance - any agent in Bali can assist with this, but unless you have your eye on a specific package/operator I'd suggest better off to book once you get there.

Hey brettjayhawk,
When do you plan on doing your boat trip? My boyfriend and I are planning to go on January 29-31, and looking for people to join us!

I would wait until you are in Lubuan Bajo

I am not sure if you are thinking of combining the trip to the island with snorkeling/diving but if not this seems quite a long trip if returning to LB

you can easily see the dragons on a day trip to Rinca should you wish

Hi there

I was about to post a question about liveboard options from LBJ to explore Komodo. My husband and I would like to sail from Dec 17-20, but the boats I have found so far are either crazy expensive (e.g. Komodo Resort) or on the scary side. We are not keen on roughing it too much especially when it comes to be being on a boat, so if you anyone has experience with some mid range options, please let us know!

Thank you so much!
