Henri Cartier-Bresson: The Decisive Moment

Posted by somtam2000 on 2/5/2016 at 03:45 admin

An excellent spoken word piece by Henri Cartier-Bresson, considered to be the father of modern photojournalism. While he's talking about his own work, there are many lessons for any photographer in this especially as he often talks of particular photos shown alongside his talk.

As one of the comments reads:
"When you see this and then you read magazines about photography they are so full of total rubbish about the latest camera that has 2 more megapixels than the previous model and lenses that are sharper in the corners at 5.6 compared to 2.8. So much of the beauty and the art of photography has become threatened by rampant consumerism and technology-centered approaches to taking pictures. It's people like Cartier-Bresson we need to pay attention to so as not to lose what the essence of this art really is.?"

Certainly worth the 18 minutes of your time top listen to.
