Posted by derail on 9/6/2011 at 22:04

Hi all,
Does bus 556 from Suvarnabhumi airport to the Southern Bus Terminal still exist?
If not, would appreciate info on the quickest and/or easiest way by bus or train from the airport to the SBT. Many thanks.Dave

Not anymore!!
This bus route is no longer running.
The offical directions are to get the 551 to the Victory monument (which is a mini bus and has no capacity for luggage), and then from there the local bus 28 to the southern bus terminal.

Other options maybe the RMT , which now reaches the airport, and connect to a local bus from a RMT station, or express bus (150 baht) to Democarcy monument (Koh San Road) and get the 28 from there. Cheapest option is the offical directions.

Can't understand the logic in removing the 556 route, but there again, I can't claim to understand Thai logic at all!!!!!

As i read on signboard while last visit, bus 556 is running, but instead of transport terminal at Survanabhumi, it is now running from Makkasan (accessible via Rail Link).
