Buying 2 touring bicycles for traveling to Europe

Posted by TheCrazyTravel on 19/3/2012 at 04:00

I am interested in buying 2 touring bicycles as well as the equipment for traveling from Bangkok to Europe.

I was planning to travel longer time in SE Asia and take a flight to Europe later with Air Asia (they had flights for 150-200€) but today I discover that flights to Europe for these prices are over... So it would be cool to buy bicycles instead of that and make this crazy adventure.

Anyone selling their bicycles in Thailand? Any places where I could find good quality and good price bikes in Bangkok?

Thanks!

You got a route planned? Because there are a few obstacles along the way (though it can be done).

There were two previous thread that might be helpful. The bike shops, AFAIK, are more oriented towards mountain bikes and road bikes so I am not so sure if they will have the panniers, and other gear that you might need. So it is better to ask before your trip about prices and availability.

Piriya International, the distributor for Surly bicycles list the Long Haul Trucker as available.

That's quite tough. Well, you can have a good trail picture first perhaps.
