Ang Thong Marine Park

Posted by claireybell on 11/7/2012 at 11:52

Hi all!

My boyfriend and I are going to Thailand this September for 3 weeks.

We would like to explore Ang Thong Marine Park. We were thinking of 3 days/ 2 Nights staying on Wua Talap.

We would like to go from Koh Phangan, stay 2 nights in Wua Talap, and possibly get a boat back to Koh Samui. I am just wondering if anyone has done this? Or if this is even possible? I'm thinking that we might have to return to Phangan on the way back.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks!

took me 5 secs on google to find this

http://samui.sawadee.com/angthong/

would be expensive to get a private longtail boat there
might be best to do a daytrip but i dont know
says there are bungalows there but not sure of standard

Hello! I realize your post is from a couple of years ago but my boyfriend and I are heading to Thailand in a few weeks and were thinking of doing the exact same thing. I've been trying to do my research but am getting frustrated with the lack of info online! We want to do 3 days, 2 nights in Wua Talap going from Koh Phangan and returning to Koh Samui. Did you end up doing that? Any advice? It's greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Just go to samui and ask the locals. Online island info is always limited.

Hey, did any of you do this trip of staying in the marine park?
Im on a daytrip and it just sucked cause the operators were awful - they went only to the crowded places and the kayaking was too "ruled" (we couldnt even stay a little bit behind the crowd to experience it better). So we're thinkg of coming to stay for 2 nights to get a better experience of it all. Any recommendations on that?

If not, would you have anything to say about a good operator?

Thanks a lot!
