Late Flight to Surat Thani

Posted by CarbonBased on 30/6/2013 at 21:02

I fly into Surat Thani on July 17th at 8:20 p.m. Ideally I would like to catch the night boat which departs surat thani town (Am I correct on this?) to Koh Phangan at 11:00 p.m. but I am unsure if I will be able to make it from Surat Thani airport in time to catch the boat. Should I book a night or should I go for it and if I do miss the night boat will I have much trouble finding a place to crash?
Your help is much appreciated,

As a matter of opinion, I would just get a room and take the first ferry next morning. There are several overnight options near the train station about 13km from the airport. The Queen Hotel is acceptable for a quick overnight, and right out front is where buses and vans make for the ferries. For daytime ferries they'll probably go by road to Don Sak an hour away which is where Raja and Seatran have their big piers. At the airport there is a bus/ferry booking counter where you can check for the best options.

you are UNwright in 2 ways:
1.the boat wont leave on time
2.that you would need to prebook Thai hotels You simply have to adapt to the usual Thai way of living and thinking-as mynamesake cptbob, formerly justbob, has succesfully done.
