Young Kids on a Thailand Island in July/August

Posted by karyn on 7/7/2017 at 10:06

We are traveling to Thailand mid Summer and would like to spend a few days on a beach. What island would you suggest for children under 8? We don't need a kids program since we want to spend the time together.

It's rainy season in two of the three main island zones in Thailand, so that limits your options to the Gulf side if you want the best chance of good weather and calm seas. Ko Samui could work, perhaps somewhere quiet on the north coast like Mae Nam or Bophut. Or maybe Thong Nai Pan or Baan Tai on Ko Pha Ngan.

Thanks! Would you pick an island or Phuket? It will be the start of our trip and are looking for time to get over jet lag, beach time, and adjust to being away.

Sorry, I should have added if Phuket is your answer, what beach area would you say? Thanks.

I don't know Phuket well but if you look in the Phuket travel guide on this site you will find info on the beaches.
