Bangkok to Koh Kood..., ways to go ?

Posted by sandyfreckle on 25/9/2017 at 20:11

I'd like to spend around a week on Koh Kut. I already have a bit of info regarding various ways and means but thought I would send out a request to those who've been that way recently...., can anyone offer some suggestions re; ways and means of travelling from Bangkok to Koh Kut..., plus accommodations and places of interest also ?
I plan to go mid October after the completing some dental treatment in Bangkok.

The weather might be touch and go in October . You would have to give more info about the type of accommodation you want and your budget. The cheapest area to stay is Klongchao if you stay in guesthouses back from the beach . The best beaches are further south but you can do long day walk to them if the weather is okay. Simply take a bus from Bangkok to Trat , there are passenger boats going to Ko Kood (Kut) from jetty some kilometers out of town.

Koh Kood is indeed lovely. I took the ferry and bus combo at FerrySamui. The ferry price is very cheap. Ferry and bus are nice too. Try checking their website for the ferry schedule. The travel time is around 6 hours total. Hope this still helps. Cheers.

I travelled to Koh kut in 2015, such a beautiful place. I used bon siri bus ferry combo, They have booking office near Koh San road. It was very easy process just had to turn up around 6am was sitting on beach in deck chair by 3pm. We stayed at horizon resort situated between 2 amazing clean beaches. We were very happy with our choice. Have fun

Old thread I know, but in case others are looking, if you want to have all your ducks in a row, the BoonSiri van/ferry combo from Bangkok to Ko Kut can also be purchased online through out partner 12GoAsia*.

Also, Horizon Resort still going strong!

Another option, if you have more time, is to break up the journey rather than doing it all in one hit. Chanthaburi and Trat are both well worth a night if you have time up your sleeve.
