Don meuang airport transit

Posted by kelliepnz on 13/1/2018 at 14:41

Hey we are planning flight from Chiang mai to krabi which will mean an 8hr stop over at airport. Can we leave the airport between flights? The flights are with different airlines. Thanks in advance

Yes you can leave the airport; they're both domestic flights so you'll never be stamped out of Thailand.

Is the 8-hour layover by choice? Because I'm sure you could book the two flights separately (possibly with different airlines) to avoid it.

All of the following fly Chiang Mai-Bangkok and Bangkok-Krabi:

Using Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok:

- Nok Air
- Air Asia
- Thai Lion Air

Using Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok:

- Bangkok Airways
- Thai Smile
- THAI

Find the official airline websites and book directly, as most of these don't show up on booking search engine sites.

Yeah no problem leaving the airport. Just make sure to give enough time allowance.
