Beach areas late Feb/March

Posted by Michael29 on 18/2/2018 at 01:14

Hi,

Am looking for a week’s beach getaway from Northern Thailand over the next couple of weeks. Have been checking out Thai Mueang Beach area.
Trying to avoid the hordes of tourists and looking for ‘clean beach areas,’ bungalow or such for under 1000-1500 Baht per night and good local foods - hopefully seafood to enjoy. Plus also gotta consider areas that’ll be reasonably dry.
Look forward to replies.
Cheers, Michael

Everywhere is dry and it's a perfect time to hit any island - take your pick. Personally I like the Trang islands. A few nights on Ko Muk, a day trip to Emerald Cave and maybe Ko Ngai, then a couple of nights on Ko Kradan. If more time could go on to Ko Bulon Lae or Ko Libong if looking to go really low key, or Ko Lipe for a little more liveliness. It's easy enough to island hop around down there.

If you want to stay on the mainland Thai Mueang could work fine, you also might like Khanom and Sichon on the east coast near Samui.

Another vote for Koh Lipe. I really love its vibe. Check out Koh Samet too.
