According to an article on your site from 2009, if you take a day trip from Mae Sot into Burma, on return you get an extra 15 days in Thailand. Is this true now?

Depends on your nationality and is you are eligible for visa free stay in Thailand. Many nationalities get 15 days and a few get 30 days after entering by land. The Mae Sot border is open for overland crossings into Burma.

i am English and so entitled to 30 days on arrival by air. There is an arrangement for 15 extra days if you leave and return by land but does this apply if you only leaave for a few hours. I read that the Thai government is tighening up on it.
