The keen-eyed will have noticed a new tab up on the navigation bar titled "Film" -- it's a new film/travel video section where each and every Monday morning we'll be adding a travel video filmed by a traveller to Southeast Asia.
The idea is just to showcase some of the great videos people are putting together -- and to get your feet itching while we're at it :)
If you've got a video you'd like to have considered (we intent to only post one per week), please feel free to contact us directly or just post the link (Vimeo and Youtube are preferred) below and we'll check it out.
So, put your feet up and enjoy the show!

We`ve done this video exclusively for the purpose of Creative Exchange photography meet-up that was held in Skopje, Macedonia last November. One of their requirements was to include some background as well as how we decided to pack backpacks, leave everything and go to explore the world, so if necessary, it`s possible to remove the first few minutes and make a shorter version that covers just the trip in SE Asia.
video - https://vimeo.com/54211910
Another video that shows movement/transportation through SE Asia - https://vimeo.com/53093707
Short video/slideshow on illegal cock fighting in Bali, Indonesia - Into the Ring - https://vimeo.com/47807934
All movies are from 2012.
Great videos shared by all, Really interested.

"A Banana Pancake Trail"
Although "the trail" is crossed by thousands of travelers each year, and due to this, many criticize the lack of cultural authenticity in South East Asia, I still feel that it provides a transformational and eye-opening experience. This film aims to showcase the uniqueness of this part of the world, and allows for those who have done "the trail" to reminisce of their own experiences.

This is Mike from "Sweet Spot". I've got a new travel film trailer. It's from a recent trip to India, so it might be outside Travelfish's realm of interest but you might enjoy it anyways.
Thanks again for all your support. "Sweet Spot" got thousands of views with your help.
We shot these videos last August and set up this YouTube channel a few months later, http://www.youtube.com/user/MaritimeMysteries. It includes a sizzle reel and playlists on what we are doing at this location. Most of this concerns the salvaging of artefacts from the British cargo vessel, the Viscount Melbourne, for an eventual maritime museum in Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia. The ship ran aground on a reef in the South Luconia Shoals, in the South China Sea, late December, 1841. Australians, Hans and Roz Berekoven found the wreak and receive permission to retrieve the artefacts from the Malaysian government but it has been a long and slow process with the ship lying 40 meters below the surface and the trip to the reef taking up to 17 hours from where their vessel is moored in Miri. I am in touch with the Berekoven's almost every week and I hope to make it out there again this year. There is still much work to be done on the artefacts and we still need to investigate an anomaly that we discovered near there. I hope you enjoy the videos and welcome your comments. You can reach me at email@example.com.
Not my own, and (unfortunately) sponsored by a travel company, but this is a beautiful (& tasty) video of Vietnam, and they have many others :) Check them out!
Me and my buddy have been traveling in Australia for two months now. I have about 10 videos from there.
Our YouTube channel is: http://www.youtube.com/KKDJEN
I would love it if you feautured the first part of our "Roadtrippin" series, or if you find another video of interest on our channel, feel free. Part 1 of our "Roadtrippin" series is right here: [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0gjW2X6uws]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0gjW2X6uws

Here' a little film from my recent trip to Allahabad, India for the Kumbh Mela. I realize you don't typically deal with travel to South Asia, but concentrate on SE Asia. I just wanted to share!
Going Street Films
Several years ago we went to Myanmar and produced a short film called Altered Focus: Burma that some of you might have seen. It documented our travels as skateboarders and the skateboarders and park we discovered there. Ever since we wanted to go back and tell the story of these skateboarders through their voice and our new film "Youth of Yangon" is about their passion for the sport juxtaposed with the struggles they face there.
If you haven't seen Altered Focus: Burma it's available on the link below with Youth of Yangon. AFB is free in the extras and there is a trailer for YoY with the full film available for $2.49 or available for rent for $1.

I am working on a 90-minute documentary called "Mucky Secrets", about the weird and wonderful marine creatures of the Lembeh Strait in North Sulawesi, Indonesia.
In advance of the full release, here is a short prologue video I published today that showcases many of the quirky animals and attempts to convey their personalities.
You are welcome to feature any of the other SE Asia videos on the same channel, for example "Myanmar Magic".
very nice video.........

Thank you for having a look at the following video. Since I notice that you don't have videos about Nepal (which is considered as part of
the south eastern part of Asia) on your site, I thought it could well enough interest you!

Wish You Could've Seen This is a project initiated by photographer Maude Plante-Husaruk and composer Maxime Lacoste Lebuis. Through short videos, they communicate what they have experienced in cultures different from their own, instigating a sense of perspective on our society.
In this first video, A Moment At The Top Of The World, the Nepalis living in high-altitude have to brave the forces of nature everyday. In such conditions, even something as simple and taken for granted as making cheese can be a great accomplishment.
I would be really delighted to be featured on your blog!
Thank you again!

I have completed a short film of my recent trip through Thailand which I thought I would share on this forum.
THAILAND - In the Garden of the Dragon
Filmed in and around Bangkok, Pai, Mae Hong Son and the Thailand / Myanmar border region in late July 2013. This edit is an attempt at re-creating the visceral nature of my experience.
Thailand really is an amazing place to explore, especially the north.

Hi Travelfish, my wife and I plus a couple of buddies travelled through Bali a couple of months ago, spending a night in Kuta before heading up to Canggu for a week. We then jumped on the motorbikes and rode up to Balian, Lovina, Canddi Dasa and back down to Uluwatu. The background music you will have heard before but I love it and it really suits Bali! Cheers, Jeff & Alli. https://vimeo.com/86876293

Hello Stuart and gang,
I wanted to share with you the trailer for my most recent travel film "Burma Bound!" from a trip this January and February. Full film to come with segments highlighting the "Bangkok Shutdown", Balloons over Bagan, and the Kalaw to Inle Trek (that I know Stuart was so fond of).
Thanks again for all the great info that helped me put this film together.
Here's the TRAILER ON VIMEO!
Thanks for watching!

Our video: Falling For Myanmar
Whether floating over 2,000 pagodas at sunrise in Bagan, boating through Inle Lake's floating fishing villages, or simply interacting with the locals, you quickly realize Myanmar is a true gem.
Armed with a couple of Canons and overpriced lenses, we shot this during our 9 day adventure in Myanmar. We've never met a kinder, more hospitable people in our lives.
Hope you like!

I spent 7 amazing months in SE Asia and put together a video, trying to squeeze everything in. I failed miserably as I just had so much footage and will have to make a few more edits in the future, but hopefully what I did put together still gives some good watching. Fairly new to the video editing world so go easy on me :)
A mood film shot in Myanmar in December 2013. It's almost inevitable to become enchanted by the hospitable Burmese people and their colourful land. The idea of this film came from the prose read during the voyage and the poetry shared by friends made on the road, and the beauty of Myanmar gave me the inspiration to create this colourful recitation:

I just had a video of my recent trip to Thailand published on Matador Network. I tried to provide some reasons why Thailand is still worth visiting, even if people don't think it's as "exotic" as it once was.
Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Doi Inthanon NP, Chiang Rai, Golden Triangle, etc.

I was hesitant to backpack Southeast Asia with my sister for 30 days because we don't see eye to eye on some things. Recently, I got back to Canada and back to work and can not help to think that this trip was the most life changing event of my life so far.
We came home with new eyes.
We backpacked Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia and I was shooting film from day one. Here is my film.
