If such a cave exists, it doesn't seem to be too well known. I spent 6 weeks in Nha Trang earlier this year and I never heard about a cool cave, though I did hear a lot about a waterfall a bit north of town. It seems like if it was near Nha Trang it would be commonly known, so maybe it's quite a ways away, on the road from Hoi An? Or maybe someone made it up?
I also have no idea. There is a huge sitting white buddha in Nha Trang but it's out in the open.
Perhaps you're mistaken with Marble mountains? Or indeed someone made it up or got things mixed up.
The way you describe it, it should be more well-known and clearly on the tourist radar.
Yeah thats what I thought, it sounded to good to not be on every tour out of Nha Trang . Thanks anyway.
We are heading from Hoi An to Nha Trang in mid October, I was thinking we might be able to hire a car and driver to get us there, anyone know if that is possible?

It's not only possible but highly recommended.
Even best if you spread it out over several days. The route is beautiful with some excellent small inlets and small local beaches.
Most backpackers take the open bus tour or train and never stop at those places. Just at the mandatory restaurants.
Don't know of any companies for car but I'm sure that many travel agents/hotels can help to find one. Should be easy and most likely one will come over from Hue for that.
