Posted by steviej on 23/12/2006 at 19:16

Hi All,

Does anybody know how many airlines fly SGN-BKK other than the usual suspects i.e. Vietnam Airlines Thai Air & Air France??

Any news on the ground regarding Vietnam Airlines website, everytime I visit they have a new date for launch....................

Stevie,

we mentioned over on AsiaNewsDesk a few weeks back about a deal Lufthansa were doing on that route. You can see it here: Saigon to Bangkok with Lufthansa.

A return flight comes out at about 9,585B including taxes which isn't all that cheap, but it's another one to consider.

If you want to do it cheap, look into Tiger Airways from Saigon to Singapore (yes, Singapore) then any budget carier up to Bangkok. It will take longer, but could be cheaper....

Another possibility, should you be a thrifty sort, would be to take the bus over to Phnom Penh (about a six hour ride) and then fly on Air Asia to BKK. This should come out to around $100 for bus fare, visa, airfare, etc.

Cheers Peeps,

Not too sure about the Phnom Penh option Static, it means back tracking to PP but I'll give it the 'Once Over' as they say.
