Mekong Delta tour for 10 people

Posted by haminhan0916 on 8/9/2016 at 04:12

My family together with my close friend's family intend to travel in mid-September. We are very curious about floating markets in Southeast Asia; thus decide to make a tour of Mekong Delta in Vietnam. If having more free time, we will visit other places. Because we have 4 children at 10-12 years old, we want to book a family tour so that we don't have to worry about hotels, meals, etc. The number of people is 10. This is the first time we have travelled abroad; so we wonder which travel company to book. Anyone that had experience in booking tours? Or any ideas about other places? We are all open to any suggestions? Thanks.

How long do you spend in Vietnam? if you want to visit from the north to the south of Vietnam, you need at least 10days to travel. Further, homestay at local people will the ideal activities for you to join floating market in the early morning

Hi shakitasexson and perryluckie97. We have 6 days for this trip. We haven't had the particular estimate for total expense. Actually, we want to book a tour with no luxury and reasonable price but the quality is not too bad. Do you have any suggestions?

There is absolutely no need to book a tour like this in advance and there are plenty of agencies in Saigon who will be able to assist in this regard. I've already deleted a bunch of travel agent spam from this thread and I'd be very cautious of recommendations for specific agencies from members who have otherwise not posted (like the bunch of posts I just deleted).

The Delta trips are generally of a 1/2/3 night flavour and will visit centres like My Tho, Can Tho, Ben Tre and perhaps Vinh Long for a homestay. There is really little to separate one tour from another as you're all seeing pretty much the same thing.

I'd suggest door knocking when in Saigon with a few agencies and explaining you want a private tour for a group of ten and then see what you get. Ask to meet the guide before making a decision. In booking ahead, especially online, all you'll probably do for sure, is pay more than you need to.

If you'd rather work with an experienced, international firm, Exo (previously Exotissimo) has an excellent reputation, but they are not cheap. An example of their offerings for the Delta is here.

Hope that helps.

Perryluckie97, how did you book this tour? How do you feel about this?

Thank admin. I want to book a not too expensive tour. Therefore, I need the advise from those who have real experience.

Perryluckie97 - yet another spammer on behalf on a Vietnam-based travel agency for whom we have banned dozens of accounts.

Sigh. They never learn.
