Train or private driver Hue to DaNang

Posted by TanyaCollins on 4/10/2017 at 07:39

My husband and I will be traveling from Hue to DaNang in January enroute to Hoi Ann. Is it a prettier trip by train or car? It looks like we will need a private driver/ car to get from DaNang to Hoi Ann ( we are not keen on bus travel and want to make the most of our time).
Should we just hire a private driver/ car to go from Hue to Hoi Ann? If so , any idea of cost and any suggestion of a driver or company to contact?

Travelling from Hue to Danang by train or car both can be good. The train trip is often considered one of the prettiest in Vietnam, as it runs along the coast, with good views to the water (through probably a dirty/scratched up train window). You have to disembark in Danang and then take a taxi the rest of the way to Hoi An . By car, the Hai Van Pass is also a highlight. The benefit is there are a couple places the vehicle can stop for photos along the way. If you choose to go by car and want the Hai Van Pass, you must specify beforehand or the car will take the tunnel through the mountain.

If you are not keen on bus travel and want to make the most of your time, then hiring a car all the way to Hoi An is definitely a good, more comfortable option.
