Cha Pa Garden Hotel, Sapa, VN Still Active?

Posted by rjhintz on 13/7/2018 at 12:06

Agoda and Booking don't show availability when plugging in several dates. Google Maps shows as open. Web site from the TF listing directs to some casino site. (Didn't try calling.)

Any current information is welcome.
Thanks,
Rich

Hi Rich,

I think it has gone—have removed the property. Our Sapa coverage is quite out of date, need to get up there soon. When will you be there? May have to cross paths again!

Cheers

Currently planning on September, 2018. Expecting a Khao San Road + Siem Reap + Kuta scene with a thin veneer of hill tribe. Can't wait.

I'll be on the road a fair amount and getting together again would be great.

(Lol, member since 2006 and this was my first post.)

Just to partially close the loop on this. We didn't check Cha Pa Garden hotel out, so no definitive info.

Booked at the TF recommended Cat Cat View.

Excellent place! Incredible views from the deck outside our rooms on the 9th floor (9 floors at the hotel.) Ok breakfast, though staff could be overwhelmed with guests. Ok toilets with decent full flood shower. Friendly, helpful staff. Fireplace, which we didn't use. No air con and not needed during our stay. Inexpensive, decent restaurants close by, like "24 Restaurant," recommended. Didn't eat at the hotel restaurant except for breakfast, but I can see the utility if inclement weather. 4* Azure hotel on south side has poorer views, from what we could see. Cafe in the Clouds, close by with good views, was out of several listed items.

Realistically I wouldn't stay anywhere but on Fansipan, uphill, North side with a high floor.

Hotel is accommodating to those with night train arrival and departure, though being risk averse I booked the preceding and following nights. Also, booked transport from/to Lao Cai train station through the hotel. Minivan packed to Asian standard on way to hotel. Thankfully we were let off first. On return, our group of 4 were the only pax. Passing on blind corners on mountain road? No problem!

Fun fact about Vietnam: you can get cough syrup with codeine over the counter.
