Local Tour Operators
Local Tour Operators
Hi All
I have booked some tours direct with local tour operators for my upcoming trip to Vietnam. Before I hand over my hard earned cash for deposits etc, does anyone have any feedback regarding these operators/tours ?
Handspan Travel: 2 day/1 night Meekong Delta Homestay
Tropical Sails: 3 day/2 night Halong Bay cruise on the 'Red Dragon' junk
Adventure Indochina Travel: 3 day/2 night Sapa town, Bac Ha market, Laocai
Any feedback good or bad will be appreciated !!

Hi Wyse,
Handspan generally get a pretty good wrap, as does Tropical Sails. Adventure Indochina isn't ringing any bel;ls -- but as there's just shy of 13,234,765 travel agents in hanoi, i'm kinda glad the bells don't ring for all of em!
Out of curiosity, why did you decide to work with three companys rather than just the one?

Does SinhCafevn.com gives the most reliable tour?

In Ha Noi you have to ask WHICH Sinh Cafe as I have photographs of over 56 knock-offs.
Ha Noi has the greatest number of disreputable, underhanded and plain outright crooked travel agents in VietNam and possibly the world.
Just because an agency has forigners (white) people running it don't think you are safe!
Tropical Sails is honest, Handspan is high priced and has several complaints over the years - including one assault on a complaining passenger.
Tropical Sails has a fleet of boats but I don't recall them owning the Red Dragon.
Sa Pa is BEST DONE ON YOUR OWN obtaining any guides tours IN SA PA to save money. Do a search on this site for GUIDES, SA PA and check the posts.
If you don't succeed - repost and I will supply the info.

We went to Halong with Handspan and they were very good - My parents have also been with them (on my recommendation) and thought the same...

I used SinhCafe in HCMC in Nov of 07 for flights and tours. No problem for us. As stated above watch out for the imposters.
