Nine places in 14-19 days? Forget it. Pick your top three - four at the most - then fly to Phnom Phen.

Actually, drop Cambodia or Vietnam. You got time to enjoy Northern Vietnam or Cambodia, not both.

You're biting off way too much.

Is it 20 or 25 days? 25 days would obviously be a lot better.

You have enough time to see Vietnam and spend six days in Cambodia, if you wish, although you should cut back on the number of places you want to see. For example, Danang is not generally on a first time visitor to Vietnam's itinerary.

18/19 days in Vietnam:

HCMC (with trip to Mekong Delta)
Hoi An
Hanoi
Sapa
Halong Bay

6 days in Cambodia:

Phomh Penh
Angkor Temples

China - it's a LONG WAY from Saigon to Sapa and Halong Bay. Better be flying.

you can go to Cambodia and spend 3 days in each local - but I spent 8 in PP, and it wasn't even close to enough.

Hi China rocks thx.
But I wanted do Vietnam .
Yes madmac.
U r right.
I can do Vietname properly as my selected location is far from each place..
So now I can start with HCMC.then
MEKONG DELTA TRIP (I ll take cycle tour :-))
then fly to phu quac island
Then return to Hanoi by flight
(Let me know if any other comfortable option)
Then hue ,hanoi, Halong bay, Sapa , da nang ,tha nrang.
Now I have to find our best and comfortable transport option and stay.
Let me know if u can guide me.I have read some overnight train and bus option to reach Sapa and some other places also.

Since you are flying into Saigon, and want to see Vietnam, it's logical to head north via train - as long and uncomfortable as that will be. You can hit the main cities along the coast that you are interested in and then branch out from Hanoi to see Halong bay and Sapa. That seems to be the most logical approach. That should eat 25 days easily.

I should have clarified - yes, absolutely, flying. Haven't some people on here said bus travel is dangerous in Vietnam anyway?

you can go to Cambodia and spend 3 days in each local - but I spent 8 in PP, and it wasn't even close to enough.

Yea, but you like to play chess with the taxi drivers etc. Most people won't do this on a three week holiday. PP is ok but I think three days there is loads, particularly for a trip like this. It's enough time to see a few historical sites, have a walk around, relax and sample some cuisine.

OP - I think you are still talking about too many places in your timeframe. Cut Danang and Nha Trang and get some beach time in Hoi An instead.

Are you saying there is something wrong with Thai chess or taxi drivers????
