Laos visa

Posted by tanglz on 13/9/2018 at 07:19

Am landing at BKK and then heading straight out to Laos. I take it I'll need to get a Thai visa issued at the airport as they aren't connecting flights and then head straight to departures! But, when I land in Laos, Luang Phrabang airport, do I need to pay in US dollars for the visa or local currency?? Does anyone know if there are currency exchange points before you get to the visa control as there are in BKK??

thanks

UK passport qualifies for free visa-exempt entry to Thailand, so no need for an actual visa. On arrival to Luang Prabang you get a 30-day tourist visa. Cost for UK is $35 and best paid in USD. Get some Lao Kip for the taxi into town, but pay in USD for visa (also bring 1 passport-size photo).
