Sharks of Koh Tao

Posted by ayesha on 22/12/2010 at 13:45

As a long term resident and diver on Koh Tao, I can tell you that each year the return of the sharks to Chumphon Pinnacle is eagerly awaited and then much celebrated too. And then the debate starts once again.... Are these magnificent animals grey reefs or are they bulls.....check out the images and information and decide for yourself..... http://www.master-divers.com/sharks.htm ...

Hi, Just after some advice really. I am going to be travelling to Sydney in January and would like to stop off in the far east for maybe a week or more and seen as I am now certfied I thought it would be a good chance to dive somewhere new aside from the barrier reef. Posted by sharpie on 19/8/2010 at 16:02

Hi, My boyfriend and i are going to Borneo in October and just discovered how amazing the diving is there. We are both novice divers and are considering doing our open water. Does anyone know much about scuba junkie? We were thinking about staying at their Mabul beach resort and doing the course? Anyone done this it seems pretty pricey for our backpackers budget, but a once in a life time experience. Also would love to get to Sipidian but that is REALLY expensive. Andaman Coast - now!

Posted by noflyzone on 11/7/2010 at 20:03

Hi, We've just qualified as SCUBA divers from Mermaids (excellent) in Pattaya and are heading down towards Malaysia. We plan to dive the Perhentians in Malay, therefore we'd quite like to dive the other side of the peninsula. However, it seems like the Similan/Surins etc are all off limits at this time. Is there anywhere good for newly-qualified divers to go on the West coaast of the peninsula in July/August? Nothing too technical or 30m deep, just some slightly different scenery/life maybe ...

Philippines or Indonesia?

Posted by Jacster on 2/8/2009 at 05:06

I'm planning to escape the office for 4 weeks in February next year. I'm trying to decide beween the Philippines and Indonesia - and struggling! What recommendations do you have? (PS - I'm an Advanced PADI diver (logged 50 dives), currently retraining with BSAC and doing UK diving over the summer, confident underwater, experience of handling strong currents and wreck diving. Looking for stunning reefs, wrecks, a few of the 'big things') ...

Anywho, I will be in Thailand in April, and was wondering where you suggest the best place to dive would be.. is it still good diving on Koh Tao around that time or should I venture to the west coast? I have my open water cert already so I will just be doing fun dives. Are the whalesharks still around Koh Tao around April or is March ...

dive master internship - Thailand

I'm planning on doing my Dive Masters certification in Thailand in February. I have lots of time to complete the certification and am liking the idea of prolonging the internship because the lifestyle sounds like something i could get used to. I've looked into a few different companies on different islands: koh tao, koh samui, koh phi phi and in the similan islands. some internships last 2 months, others 5 or 6 and the prices seem to vary. seems like some places have you more as a student for th ...
