Posted by jojow25 on 1/11/2009 at 16:35

I am looking for recommendations for a two night stay in a good hotel in PP - I am hoping to treat my gf for her birthday (whilst otherwise budget backpacking) so am looking to spend around 100 USD per night. Somewhere romantic, clean, with a swimming pool (and a bath?) and a bit special would be great for us. Let us know if you have stayed somewhere nice like this in PP and would recommend. Cheers!!! ...

ATM denominations in Cambodia

Posted by Roey77 on 26/10/2009 at 16:36

Hi, We're off to Cambodia in a week and are having abit of trouble getting USD here as our bank just sold the last lot of cash this morning. We could go to the Travelex but their rate is .88 and the bank's rate is .90. I'm wondering what denominations the ATM's in Cambodia spit out. Are they all $50 or a mix of $20 also?? Does anyone know what the rate to change AUD to USD is over there?? Thanks Roey ...

Siem Reap "Happy Pizza" Information Update

Posted by themuths on 26/9/2009 at 11:06

Since all the "happy pizza" information on here is at least a year old, I thought people traveling to Cambodia might appreciate an update. I'm not affiliated with any of the businesses or websites mentioned, nor am I encouraging you to take part in any illegal activities, I'm just a traveler who personally wanted to satisfy my curiosity and eat "happy" and drink "happy" while in Cambodia. Perhaps you are, too? As the title indicates, this is solely about Siem Reap, I did not seek out any "h ...

e-visa / Cambodia Angkor Air

Posted by tails101 on 16/10/2009 at 16:36

Just a couple of things I said I'd report back on once in Cambodia... Firstly, the e-visa system worked brilliantly, we were able to bypass the queues for a visa and were waiting for our luggage within 5 mins of getting off the plane. Well worth the $5 processing fee... Definitely recommended. Secondly, the new national airline seemed great to us. Virtually new plane, friendly crew, punctual, drink service on a 35min flight, what more could you ask for!!! Finally, I know Stuart highly r ...

Is the Lazy Fish Guesthouse still open?

Posted by Rohan on 15/10/2009 at 17:47

I am travelling to Cambodia in January and looking at accommodation options in Phnom Penh. One of the cheaper options recommended by Travelfish is the Lazy Fish Guesthouse. However, in researching it, I have come accross articles stating that it was closed down in June as part of some political powerplay: http://www.ahrchk.net/statements/mainfile.php/2009statements/2088/ It is unclear from this article whether the closure was temporary or whether it has been shut down permanently. Doe ...

Posted by Lodestar on 12/10/2009 at 20:58

Hi! In Siem Reap right now and would really want to go to Sen Monorom for the local tribes and villages, falls and elephant rides. Any suggestions and tips? I am aware of the 9+ hour not so comfy bus ride from PP, so wondering, if someone could say if it really is worth the trouble. Considering we would like to take a motorbike around and see the villages and nature and then do a tour in the forests with the elephant. What do you say? Is it possible to cross over to Vietnam without ...
