We are travelling to Cambodia next week (first time!) we'll be there for 23 days. We want to go trekking for 2-3 days in a national park, jungle... somewhere off the track. We heard about Chi Phat and some tour activities around there with ecotourism. Just wondering if anyone can recommend it? and know the prices? I have emailed them, but haven't got a reply yet.
or if you know any other good places for hiking trekking in Cambodia? We would like to find something around Siem Reap or in th ...
Hi, will be traveling in July and we were wondering what was the best way to get from sihanoukville to siem reap. We'll be coming from southern Vietnam and intend to spend most of our time on koh Rong and a few days in Cambodia. ...
Wondering if anyone can help - i have tried googling and no luck really.
My partner and i are hoping that we can obtain a 60 day Thai visa in Sihanoukville, has anyone ever managed to do this?
Also, we have entered Thailand twice in the past 3 months (both on VOA's), will this affect our application? Basically, we had to reenter Thailand on the second VOA - as I broke my collarbone in Siem Reap, and insurance sent us to Bangkok to see the doctor. i don't know if there is a limit as to h ...
If anyone is up for a 12-day trek to the Yak Yeuk Grasslands (not to be confused with the popular 7-day Veal Thom Grasslands trek) to help check out camera traps in April, there is quite an adventure in store for you. My organization, Habitat ID, recently launched two camera-trapping expeditions in Virachey this year, with the first group deploying cameras in Yak Yeuk. They found an elephant wallow high in the mountains near Laos, saw a pack of 10 dhole, saw a very rare pangolin (most are caught ...

May 1st is Labor Day holiday in Cambodia.
There is a similar holiday in China and I was told to avoid travel in China on those days because it would be VERY busy.
Can anyone comment on Siem Reap on May 1st and 2nd and how busy it will be?
I am going for a photography tour.
Thank you! ...
So I was pretty sure about Koh Rong (I was looking at the Monkey Island bungalows) but it seems I haven't done enough research and that maybe Koh Rong Samloem (or Koh Thmei) could also be good options. Obviously looking for the most beautiful place to be for a few days, and my girlfriend will want to do diving, so that will be a factor. It would be good if there are some other activities like trekking. I just need a place to sit and read and write. Any experiences to share? Which is quieter, ...
With time on our side. WE fancy doing a boat journey between at least 2 of the above cities. It will be towards the end of Oct so any rivers/lakes etc should be full from the summer monsoons.
Has anyone done a journey , from where to where and is it really a good/better alternative to a bus!
When in Kampot - go to the Honeymoon Creperie. It has excellent French crepes, salads, pate, cheese, inexpensive French wine by the glass, and much more! Owned by a lovely French expat - highly recommended! ...

I'll be spending 4 nights staying in Siem Reap as part of my month long Indochina trip. Can anyone suggest some nice things to do in the evening?
I travel with my wife, we're both food lovers and deep into our 40s. For now we only have intention to watch the Phare circus. Other than that, we haven't planned anything yet for the evening.
Also, is there any activities that we could take part after sunset at Angkor Wat?
This is my first post here and I'm excited to have joined such a lovely travel community!
My girlfriend and I recently booked tickets for a 6 month trip through SEA.
We want to spend about one month volunteering in Cambodia. We want to be able to add something to the community where we will be staying, instead of potentially taking away opportunities from the local populace.
I'm very interested in community health and health disparities and am looking to hopefully help implement new ...
Can anyone tell me if there are any buses from Siem Riep to Ban Lung - with a view to then crossing back into Vietnam and Pleiku? How long would this realistically take? Would there likely be any issue crossing the border? (assuming visa conditions are met)
Cambodia website Khmer 440 has a provocative piece titled "7 Ways Cambodia Can Solve its Foreign Dude Problem" The whole piece is well worth a read, but in summary, the suggestions are:
1. Impose gender-based visa fees
2. Ban foreign men from teaching Cambodian children
3. Only give long term visas to foreigners with jobs, businesses, or spouses in Cambodia
4. Interrogate and search single male travellers on arrival
5. Stop giving visas on arrival to Africans
6. Criminalise extramari ...
Is it possible to get from Stung Treng to Ratanakiri? I want to visit the province and it's national park. I'm travelling into Cambodia from Laos but don't want to head all the way to Phnom Penh to come back up North again.
If not Stung Treng, can someone recommend other locations without having to double-back on myself (too much)? ...
I am looking to travel as above and hoping someone might have some recent info & advice. My questions are:
Are all buses to Ha Tien via Rach Gia or is there a direct line?
What is the current cost & travel time?
I will be travelling with my 10 year old son, is Ha Tien or Rach Gia a better place to over night before crossing the border? Or is it feasible to push on over the border and get to Kampot in a day?
I was thinking of hiring a moto for crossing the border and t ...
