Best places to meet people?

Posted by Chewy1 on 5/2/2014 at 05:37

Hi guys, I'm going to Cambodia in a couple of weeks and for the first time I will be travelling alone. I'm a guy in my early thirties and pretty easy going. I've been before with friends but only made it to Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville due to time restraints. This time I'm starting off in Siem Reap and heading south over a couple of weeks, hopefully ending up on one of the islands. Where will be the best places to meet people in Siem Reap? I'm a bit old to be staying in hostels now so I'v ...

Help with my Cambodia route

Posted by katieandchris on 4/3/2014 at 14:22

We are planning a 5-6 month adventure around South East Asia later on this year. The hardest country I am finding to plan is Cambodia. We will be entering from Thailand and going on to Vietnam. We will be in Cambodia after the 12th December, we are planning on spending roughly one month and so will be there for Christmas and New Year. The main places we want to visit are (in no particular order): Siem Reap Battambang Phnom Penh Kampot and Kep Possibly Kratie (if it's worth it??) Sihanoukville ...

Help fund a rainforest camera trap expedition into Virachey National Park

Posted by somtam2000 on 8/9/2013 at 06:07

Just thought I'd post this Indiegogo project I just found out about (via Greg, the resident Travelfish Virachey expert . The organisers are raising funds to set up a series of camera traps that will be used to prove there are endangered species (tigers, elephants, rhinos, leopards and friends) to try and use that as leverage to get some serious protection happening -- not before time! The project's funding requirements are pretty clear and so I'd say if you've got an interest in this kind of th ...

Free volunteer work in Cambodia

Posted by Phoenix66 on 15/5/2011 at 17:46

Hi, I'm planning to go to Cambodia sometime in September or October and was thinking of doing some volunteer work. I could be wrong but the most popular (and probably) rewarding work there seems to be teaching English or working in orphanages so I'd like to do that. I've found quite a few websites that offer this but they all charge at least £150 a week which seems like a rip off right? Therefore, I'd be really grateful if anyone knew of any organisations that were cheaper or ideally free, ...
