Posted by LAN on 1/11/2013 at 20:32

WE need an English speaking guide for our Angkor wat tour on the 5th Jan 2014. I checked with Bunleat from the Happy Angkor Wat tour and he is charging US100 a day for the car and the basic one day tour? Is his tour worth that much? What are the basic tour charges and does anyone know of a cheaper option? ...

Road Conditions: Phnom Penh to Kratie?

Posted by dibrarian on 1/11/2013 at 11:31

I have planned to bicycle from Phnom Penh to Kratie beginning November 10 and wondered if anyone had any info on the road conditions post-flood. I've read on bike touring sites (Mr. Pumpy's, Crazyguyonabike, TravelingTwo, etc.) that road conditions are typically very rough and dusty, but I thought I'd check and see if anyone knew if they are now worse than they already were. Any advice appreciated. ...

Extending my visa

Posted by ThaiStick on 18/10/2013 at 23:14

I found a job and need to extend my visa. I am told that the travel agencies and bike rental places in Phnom Penh will do it, however that's too far from where I am at. Siem Reap is the closest other city. Can I extend my visa in Siem Reap? Or must I suffer a 10 hour bus trip back to PP? ...

Cambodia itinerary!

Posted by milouhofman on 8/10/2013 at 20:33

Hi everyone, We're planning a 2 week family trip to cambodia in January. Our proposed itinerary is to fly into Phnom Penh , have 2 nights there before heading to Siem Reap for the temples and Tonle Sap lake, then heading to Battambang for two nights before ending our trip on the coast either in Sihanoukville or one of the islands. Is this a realistic itinerary for our time frame? Is there anything we're missing? Also some questions: Is it better to stay on the mainland coast in Sihano ...

How can I get to Champassak from Phnompen?

As I put in the title of this post, I plan to go to Champassak from Phnompen. I found some postings on the opposite direction trip but none on my direction. How is the situation of bus on this route? Specifically, - Are there busses that go to the border directly or even to Pakse ? Does one need to sleep one night during the trip? How long does it take? - Is is possible for one to get off a bus at Champassak? Or does one need to go to Pakse first and then travel back to Champassak? - Also I c ...

Do you get drug tested at Poipet?

Posted by roro1990 on 27/9/2013 at 13:49

I rarely do drugs of any kind at home and the only drug i'd ever touch is weed. I'm not stupid enough to even contemplate touching a joint in thailand or laos, but from what I've heard from people who have been to cambodia, it's a pretty much lawless place (despite that, i'm assuming cannabis is technically illegal). Anyway hypothetically if one was to have a joint in Cambodia, and then go back into thailand at the poipet border, what are the chances of being drug tested and caught? And what wo ...

Living in Cambodia? I need your advice plse

Posted by ZalaTunzi on 20/9/2013 at 20:15

We want to start a grassroots charity program, anywhere in Cambodia that should benefit a small village. We want to mainly transfer skills and provide little (if any) material handouts. We want to help people capitalize on the opportunities presented in their own community. I am not new to starting programs in developing worlds. Have lived and worked it for many years. Am very aware of well intentioned do-gooders doing more damage than good, and of ill-intentioned volunteers, of government apat ...
