Tuk Tuk Driver in Siem Reap

Posted by mralfr3dchan on 5/7/2016 at 04:05

Had the pleasure of having a companian whilst at Siem Reap last month. Tuk Tuk driver and guide. Was very punctual and what I like about him is that he is pretty committed to his schedule, unlikely many who seemed to be rushing around. Handled our travel itinerary well, brought us to spots which touristless photography was possible. It was a nice trip and I felt I should do him fair by introducing to fellow travelers for your consideration to use him. You can see his website here. He can speak ...

Help with visiting Preah Vihear, Koh Ker, and Beng Mealea

Posted by MichaelW on 10/6/2016 at 07:05

Hi all, I've been living in Cambodia for a year but since I'm based in the south, I know very little about the north. I am looking for advice on the best way to visit Preah Vihear, Koh Ker , and Beng Mealea. The main problem is that it seems like too much to do in a single day. If I were just picking two, I'd probably just hire a taxi and go up from Siem Reap for a day trip. My recent thought was to go up to Preah Vihear, spend the night in Sra Em, then hit Koh Ker and Beng Mealea t ...

Siem Reap advice

Posted by Betsywoo on 7/6/2016 at 06:23

Hello, I am traveling to Cambodia with my daughter in late July. We will be in Phnom Penh for two nights. Is it advisable to book the sunset river cruise in advance? We will be traveling by Ibis bus to Siem Reap. Any problems due to monsoons? Again, is it advisable to book the Phare circus in advance? My daughter mentioned something about a silkworm farm, and a friend mentioned something about a pottery place. I might also be interested in cooking classes. Any advice? While we won't ...

Help 8 days to fill Cambodia or?

Posted by jgrant22 on 26/5/2016 at 17:16

We are a fit and active couple in our early 50's travelling out of our 10 month sojourn in Europe to spend 6 weeks in SE Asia. We prefer 'slow' travel and adventures and not running from city to city to get everything in. So we have decided to focus our trip on Cambodia and I'm needing advise and input / ideas on our last 8 days. Our travel plan: in and out of Bangkok Jan 13 to Feb 24th (we will be back in BKK on the 23rd for early am flight on the 24th). 1) 3 nights Bangkok (shop we are lea ...

Hi there! My gf and myself are flying next week to Bangkok for 15 days. For the time being, we only have got this flight, so it's a last minute planning...By the way, our main goals are visit Angkor Wat area and lay back some days in some cool islands (preferably Cambodian, if worth it). So our idea is not to stop in Bangkok, but going directly to Chiang Mai/Rai and spend 2/3 days there. Then, move to Siem Reap and dedicate 2/3 more days to Angkor Wat area. Then, heading Cambodian Isla ...

Six-week Cambodia itinerary: feedback?

Posted by chriswotton on 6/4/2016 at 09:40

Hi all Heading to Cambodia (with a few days in Vietnam) the week after next, for just under six weeks, all overland from and back to home in Bangkok. I've spent time in Cambodia on a couple of occasions but, with the exception of Siem Reap and Sihanoukville town, these are all new destinations for me. So I'd love any thoughts on my planned itinerary from any more experienced Cambodia hands who have a moment - particularly anything where I'd be better off taking in places in a different ...

Where can I find a weapon? (Siem Reap)

Posted by ThaiStick on 21/7/2013 at 19:04

Hi! I'm going to Cambodia (Siem Reap) and was wondering if there was a market or some district where I might be able to acquire a sharp object for personal defense such as a butterfly knife, or switch blade, or any sharp or blunt object.. I've been robbed before abroad and plan on it not happening again. I do not mind carving someone up to ribbons for the sake of maintaining my well-being. ...

What I don't like about Cambodia...

Posted by altmtl on 16/3/2013 at 05:32

I've been here since Feb. 27th and I must say the thing that has ruined it for me is the annoying Tuk Tuk and moto drivers who pester me and other tourists constantly, Some places are worse than others. I can't even cross the street or walk a block sometimes without being harrassed. They are every where honking their horn and yelling at me one after another... so much for a peaceful walk or taking a photo, and god forbid if they see you looking at a map. Yesterday I had a scooter helmet on and ...

One month in PP trustworthy companies for apt. rental for May visit?

Posted by mixedkt on 18/3/2016 at 05:16

I need an apartment rental for one month in PP away from the expat scene but still a nice place. Any recommendations? I want to avoid companies that used places with maintenance issues, flooding, noise, dangerous animals/people, etc. Rather, I'd like a company that looks after their renters if any problems arise. I was thinking BKK 2 maybe if that area doesn't have a lot of expats or maybe near Olympic stadium so I could workout with the locals. Thoughts? ...
