Posted by lajoy9 on 20/9/2016 at 09:04

Hi, I am wandering if anybody has tried getting a 60 days Visa for Indonesia in Pnom Penh recently? And how did it go? Any recommandations would be appreciated. I read the link on Travelfish, but it is dated 2011. We will be a week in Pnom Penh and the city would be the best place for us to get the Visa. ...

Hello, we have 5 days 4 nights in Cambodia but we have a hard time deciding if we should stay in Siem Reap the whole time or spend 1 night in Phnom Penh. We will either fly to Saigon on the 5th day or bus/taxi on the 4th day to PP, spend a night in PP and then to Saigon on the 5th day. We will be there in January. Any advice would be much appreciated. ...

Travel Fish states there are three carriers that fly this route, but doesn't list them. Anyone know what they are? Also, we are planning on connecting to this flight from our international flight. Anyone know what the policy is on this in case our intl flight is delayed and we miss it? thanks in advance. ...

Advice for a week from Luang Prabang to Siem Reap and Bangkok?

Posted by JGBR on 14/9/2016 at 21:42

My husband and I are planning a few weeks in Thailand, Laos & Cambodia in October, and we're a bit stuck on the last week. We will have already spent time in Thailand and are visiting Luang Prabang for Boun Ok Phonsa (in mid October). We then have a week to get back to Bangkok, and would like to get to Siem Reap , but do not want to spend the whole week there. The challenge is that it seems we don't have quite enough time to fit in another far-flung destination that requires a whole ...

Stung Treng to Siem Reap bus

Posted by clinesmiths on 10/9/2016 at 14:15

I've heard there is a new bus route from Stung Treng to Siem Reap (via Krong Preah Vihear) now that there has been a bridge added across the Mekong from Stung Treng. It would be a real time saver, but I can't seem to find any info on this. Has anyone taken this route? If so what bus company did you use? We would be willing to pay for a taxi as well. Any info would be appreciated. ...

Homestay in Tonle Sap Lake?

Posted by macroscopios on 28/7/2016 at 00:04

I did something like that in Banteay Chmaar with a rural community tourism organization and stayed in the same house with a khmer family (I had my own room but shared toilet) and was amazing. I wonder if there is any rural organization that does the same in Tonle Sap lake.. I am not looking for luxury (I can't afford it anyway) but a real experience and to help humble and honest local people, not somebody who has a company and pays little to nothing to their employers. Have you done it or hear ...

Travel mate (hitch hiker buddy preferred) Siem Reap to Tonle Sap Lake/Preah Vihear/Sihanoukouville

Hi!I've put this one in the Companions section but since that is before you travel and I'm already in Siem Reap I think I should post it here as well. I'm a 31 solo female traveller who is pretty used to be alone (specially trekking/ciclotourism) but also enjoy good talks about anything (from why should humans be kind to each other to the funniest food poisoning adventures in or out a toilet). Although I love the fact of getting to know more locals by travelling alone, I need a travel compan ...

Tuk Tuk Driver in Siem Reap

Posted by mralfr3dchan on 5/7/2016 at 04:05

Had the pleasure of having a companian whilst at Siem Reap last month. Tuk Tuk driver and guide. Was very punctual and what I like about him is that he is pretty committed to his schedule, unlikely many who seemed to be rushing around. Handled our travel itinerary well, brought us to spots which touristless photography was possible. It was a nice trip and I felt I should do him fair by introducing to fellow travelers for your consideration to use him. You can see his website here. He can speak ...

Help with visiting Preah Vihear, Koh Ker, and Beng Mealea

Posted by MichaelW on 10/6/2016 at 07:05

Hi all, I've been living in Cambodia for a year but since I'm based in the south, I know very little about the north. I am looking for advice on the best way to visit Preah Vihear, Koh Ker , and Beng Mealea. The main problem is that it seems like too much to do in a single day. If I were just picking two, I'd probably just hire a taxi and go up from Siem Reap for a day trip. My recent thought was to go up to Preah Vihear, spend the night in Sra Em, then hit Koh Ker and Beng Mealea t ...

Siem Reap advice

Posted by Betsywoo on 7/6/2016 at 06:23

Hello, I am traveling to Cambodia with my daughter in late July. We will be in Phnom Penh for two nights. Is it advisable to book the sunset river cruise in advance? We will be traveling by Ibis bus to Siem Reap. Any problems due to monsoons? Again, is it advisable to book the Phare circus in advance? My daughter mentioned something about a silkworm farm, and a friend mentioned something about a pottery place. I might also be interested in cooking classes. Any advice? While we won't ...
