Itinerary check and guide options

Posted by phycistwannabe on 5/8/2012 at 02:45

Hi All, Could someone please take a look at my REP/PNH itinerary and tell me if I am all set? I have a nagging feeling that there maybe a fatal flaw in my plan 1. Arrive in REP on 11/04 (evening) -- spend 3 days visiting Angkor temples including Banteay Srei. 2. Leave REP for PNH on 11/08 - first flight out, reach PNH by 9.30AM. 3. Store bags at the airport to make a quick trip to the killing fields. 4. Get back to the airport by 4PM to catch the airasia flight t ...

Phu Quoc to Angkor Wat

Posted by OtisandBear on 23/7/2012 at 21:33

Hi ! My husband and I will be in Phu Quoc from 12/28-1/3. Then we would like to go to Angkor Wat afterwards for 3-4 days. We have till Jan 10th before we have to fly out. My question is: - should we head into Siem Reap from the South ? ie travel to Sihanoukville first then up North ? but would that be too similar to Phu Quoc ? - should we just fly from Phu Quoc to HCMC, to Siem Reap ? - if yes, then what should we do after Siem Reap ? travel to surrounding towns ? on our way to PP ? - is i ...

Best Guide and Driver

Posted by villeam on 27/6/2012 at 02:35

I booked Sotath (guide),, and Mr Simonh (driver) I was thrilled with our choice. They were waiting for us (family with 2 children ages 5 and 13) at Siem Reap Airport with welcoming smiles and that set the tone for our 4 days in Siem Reap.I had been concerned before we arrived whether we had made the right choice of guide and would it be worth having a guide for the whole time. All of these fears were quickly set aside. Sotath is a warm, gentle and de ...

beware of dishonest guesthouse,sihanoukville

Posted by sayadian on 29/11/2011 at 23:41

We are currently staying in Sihanoukville but unfortunately had to move last night because the place we stayed was disgraceful. It was bad enough that they couldn't clean the room whilst we were out but they did manage to let themselves in to help themselves to some of our property including my camera. When I asked what was going on all I received in reply was loud abuse by an arrogant woman who claimed to be the boss. The name of the place is ROMNEY guesthouse just down from the Golden Lion Pl ...

'Mysterious disease'- Is traveling with kids to Cambodia wise?

Posted by natsuyasumi on 9/7/2012 at 18:05

Hi We are planning to travel to Cambodia at the end of this month with our 3 kids: 4,6,11. However, since we started hearing about this 'mysterious disease', we are wondering if it is better to reconsider our trip to cambodia. I am sure there are many expats living in Cambodia with children. I wonder if I can hear their opinions on this and what kind of precautions they have been advised to take. Thank you ...

Itinerary help no. 264... (northeastern cambodia vs. southern split)

Yes, another one I'm just planning my second stay in Cambodia and i'm actually a bit lost already. Here's what i want to do: I want to go from Laos (Pakse or 4000 Islands) to Ban Lung at the mid/end of october and stay there for 3 or 4 nights. After my stay in Ban Lung i want to stop in Kratie and Kampong Cham, until going either to the south or to Phnom Penh directly. So my questions are mostly about staying in which place for how long: Ban Lung - 3 or 4 nights ? Is this place really worth ...

Banteay Srei, miss or not? (angkor itinerary)

Posted by kattkaa on 30/5/2012 at 20:19

Hi everyone, I have a quick question. Is Banteay Srei not to be missed or can I omit it and not feel like I've missed something great? If yes, is it possible to do the Big Circuit and Banteay Srei in one day? We have 3 & 1/2 days in SR, one at the main temples, one cycling to Bang Mealea and one for a trip to the lake (possibly Kompong Phluk). I know there is a tour that includes Beng Mealea and Banteay S - that is the one we were originally going for - but I would so love to do a bit m ...

Angkor Itenerary Thoughts

Posted by brandonc2012 on 8/6/2012 at 16:08

My girlfriend and I are planning to spend a few days in Siem Reap (mostly for Angkor ) in July. We hired a guide to take us around on days 2-4 to maximize our time there. We like adventure and a little off the beaten path (which I know is impossible here now) I really wanted to see Kbal Splean, but she advised against it due to travelling in July. Below is her recommended itenerary trying to suit our needs and a few of my inputs. Let me know your thoughts and if there is anything missing ...

Hi Folks, I am going to Thailand, Cambodia(Angkor Wat and Phnom Pehn) and Vietnam (Saigon, Mekong river) I decided to take Paludrine (I think another name is Proguanil) for Malaria precautions. Does anyone have any feedback about it? Some websites state it is less effective (~70% effectiveness) than Malarone (~95% effectiveness). Is there any restrictions in terms of how many tablets I can carry with me? Thanks Diyan ...
