Travel Fish why did you delele my post abut The Ponheary Ly Foundation

Posted by iwillfly525 on 8/4/2012 at 04:28

Hi, I have a question for an administrator. I created a post a few days ago asking if anyone had any personal experience volunteering with an organization called The Phonheary Ly Foundations. I had received a good number of replies from people who spent time volunteering there. Some of the people left me links to more information and along with e-mail address so I could contact them directly. I'm trying to follow up on some of leads they left me (now that I have time), but when I click on th ...

Kampot/Kep-rainy season, monthly accomodation

Posted by tqe on 8/4/2012 at 03:21

Need to hole up somewhere and work for some months and am trying to decide between Kampot or Kep (I'm already in Cambodia and obtained 1 yr visa) or heading to Malaysia and seeing about a chalet in Cherating or something. I need clean, quiet and a comfortable place to work on my laptop. The $500 USD budget I'd like to keep to during this time obviously fits much better with Cambodia especially with the visa already in hand. But, I haven't been down to Kep or Kampot yet and am wondering ...

Posted by vietabroad on 4/4/2012 at 02:04

I'll be in Siem Reap for two days and want to see Anlong Veng and the Khmer Rouge sites there. Has anyone done a day trip from Siem Reap to Anlong Veng and is it complicated? Once in Anlong Veng, are guides easy to find? Can I see the Khmer Rouge-related places in one day and head back to Siem Reap, and is a taxi easy to get returning to Siem Reap? ...

travel advice Cambodia from Laos

Posted by mishka1988 on 23/1/2012 at 06:04

Hi, I'm leaving the 4000 islands and need a bit of advice from those whove crossed the Cambodian border before.. Is it best to take the route to Penom Penh or to Siam Reip first? I've been hearing death stories about the Siam Siep route as well as LP recommendation to hit Penom Penh first. Lately LP has been leading me astray. What is your take on it? Also-- I'm looking to fly up to Hanoi from SR or PP-- does a flight like such exist? Which city is best to fly out or where might I look ...

A road between Beng Mealea and Preah Khan of Kampong Svay?

Posted by cloud on 30/3/2012 at 08:36

I plan to visit Beng Mealea after visiting Preah Khan of Kampong Svay using a motor cycle. The Cambodia map from Candy Publication connects the two places directly by a thin line indicating there is a direct road between them. If that's true, then I do not need to detour to Highway #6 (passing Kampong Kdei) and can save a lot of travel time. I checked, however, Google Earth and also Google Map but I was not able to locate the road. I checked also other maps, too but so far the Candy map is the ...

So, I'm heading for the coast in a few days and plan on hopping to as many of the outter islands as I feel like getting to. No time limit or exact dates, it would be nice to have someone to share costs with and travel together. I'm a well traveled 27/M from the US. Koh Rung is my main interest though I'm adamant about trying to get out to Koh Tang and maybe even Koh Prins if I ...
