Direct bus from Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh?

Posted by bryce_beamish on 29/1/2012 at 12:55

Is there a direct bus from Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh City? The best i've found is the mekong express but it appears those busses only go to Phnom Penh (which means having to get another bus the following day to Ho Chi Minh). I'm hoping to do the whole trip in one day. Any advice? ...

Cambodia or Laos?

Posted by piazzai on 26/1/2012 at 00:09

We are traveling in Thailand for one month and are thinking of visiting another country for a week. We just cannot decide between Laos and Cambodia. I have heard amazing things about Laos but at the same time we feel we have to go to visit Angkor Wat. We aren't really interested in the beaches since we are saving about ten days to enjoy the beaches in Thailand. I know a week isn't enough to explore a country but we thought it would be nice to visit a little of another culture. ...

Favorite Places in Cambodia - OTBP

Posted by mrdome on 12/1/2012 at 09:03

What are some of your favorite places in Cambodia that are "off the beaten path" and not well trodden stops on the banana pancake circuit? The sleepy town you could just move to for a while - or the rest of your days... Extra points for having a body of water close by (river, lake, beach with sand & big rocks*). (*I'm a sucker for those - Koh Rong, former site of Snakeyes GH could definitely be an entrant before it gets all turned into some luxury private island w. a golf course ...

Accommodation on Rabbit island?

Posted by Sampan on 2/1/2012 at 04:10

Hi people, I'm looking for information about accommodation on Rabbit island. The idea would be to stay for a couple of weeks in a simple bungalow (with private bathroom) and just relax. Can someone recommend a especially good spot? And also, is it likely to be full at this time of year? Any input is highly appreciated! ...

Shared taxi Phnom Phen to Siem Reap

Posted by veron on 8/8/2006 at 21:32

My husband and I are flying into PNH from BKK using Air Asia on in mid-Aug and have arranged airport pick-up, a half-day tour in PNH and Mekong Express bus tickets to Siem Reap at 12hr30. We have booked our hotel in Siem Reap. In the trip advisor forum, there were many comments made about Air Asia being late or even worst, cancelling flights. Since there is only 1 flight from BKK to PNH, I am hopeful that our flight will get into PNH on time. If it arrives super late (like 4 hours), is there ...

Hello, I am currently working in Battambang until the middle of July. When I arrived in January I applied for the business VISA and paid the $25 fee, but after checking it again there is a T in front of my VISA number which means it's a tourist VISA. I need to extend my VISA for 6 months, but with the tourist one I can only extend for 1 month. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Any advice or recommendations!? Can I extend for 1 month, then leave the country and come back after the s ...

Hello all... First of all...what an amazing resource this web site is. Thank you to all who participate in making this so. Heading to SEA in mid January. Like many...I have struggled with the balance between ...seeing as much as possible and ...preserving the quality of time spent doing so. This trip for me was a bit of a last minute decision. We (gf) had to pull the trigger on airline tickets before the research had hit full swing. We booked round trip tickets to Bangkok...other things have c ...

How is Cambodia During Tet?

Posted by Tukee on 16/1/2012 at 03:48

I regret that I chose the wrong season coming to Vietnam, thinking that climate wise, this is the best season. I will be arriving in Vietnam on the eve of Tet. My train reservation agent regret to break the news that there are no availble seats and they are shutting their services for this occasion from Jan.18 to Jan. 28. That means I will be stuck for 10 days, maybe filing my nails in a tiny hotel room for 9 days. Are transport system and temple attractions going to stand still in these 10 da ...
