Siem Reap-Battamburg-Phnomh Penh-Kep-Siem Reap Possible in 9 or 10 days??

Posted by sharoonie on 12/12/2011 at 01:44

Hi, The title of this post says it all, pretty much. Am willing to fly a leg if necessary, so if you know what's possible along that line, that would be great. I arrive in Siem Reap on Dec 19th and fly out of there on the 29th late at night. Am having trouble estimating the road travel time. How long does it take to get to Battambang from Siem Reap? Is it necessary to backtrack from there to Siem Reap to get to Pnomh Penh? All suggestions and advice much appreciated, so thanks! ...

Laos - Sihankounville Getting Around Advice, Please!!

Posted by sharoonie on 20/11/2011 at 02:33

Hi Travelfish Mates! I'll be arriving in Cambodia from Laos and flying home from Siem Reap on December 29. I want to fit in Ankor Wat (3 or 4 days), Phnom Penh (2 days) and Sihanoukville (4 days). 1) Does it make more sense to fly into SR, see Ankhor Wat, take bus to PP, then immediately take bus to Sihanoukville and backtrack through PP for 2 days then onto SR? I ask because I understand there are interesting places to stop along the way. How long is each leg of the bus trip? Is it poss ...

Booking hotels in Siem Reap... or not?

Posted by KatjaKat on 18/10/2011 at 02:17

Hi! I'll be in Siem Reap around 20 november. I'm travelling solo, and I'm thinking that booking hotels ahead might tie me down to a place even if I make friends who want to go to this great place an hour away from me... Is it a problem to just show up to the hotels in Siem Reap, or should I book to make sure all the decent spots aren't full? If I do book, does anyone have any recommendations for a solo female (28) who wants to get to know people, but doen't necessarily need to party every ni ...

Bokor hill station road complete!

Posted by think87 on 13/11/2011 at 00:18

Just got back from a tour of Bokor hill yesterday and I can say for sure the road is complete. Our van went from the bottom to the top on a new concrete road and no walking or trekking at all. Also a couple from the guesthouse met me up there and they went on there own on rented motos and also had no problem bottom to top. The only sirt we encountered was going to the waterfall but that is in process of being paved as well. There is construction everywhere going up the hill with a large set of ...

Koh Rong without Rabies shots?

Posted by Knowlan on 20/11/2011 at 16:17

Hi, I'm new here and did a search but found nothing. I am heading to Cambodia for two weeks in mid December and planned to do a day trip from Sihanoukville to Koh Rong, but the more I look into it the more a night or two appeals. The one thing stopping me from going is the remoteness of the island in case I happen to get bitten by an animal. Does anyone know how common animals infected with rabies are and how often you can get back to the mainland? I haven't had the preventative shots and ...
