Koh Rong Samloem, Saracen Bay - Cita or Paradise Villas?
Posted by lumatka on 10/11/2016 at 06:47Dear Paradise lovers , I can not decide where to stay: Cita or Paradise Villas. I like the fact that Cita is owned by Italian as I love Italian food and coffee, but Paradise seems to have a nicer restaurant and they offered me room directly on the beach for same price as Cita in second row. I'm spending a few weeks in Cambodia (second visit) in March 2017 and I'm planning to take the bus from Phnom Penh to Kratie for a few days. I'd like to make it up to Kampi in the hope of seeing a dolphin or two. I know there is good info on this website, although I wonder why they say to "leave the camera behind" re dolphins. Is this a question of just "being there in the moment"? Has anyone had recent experience of Kratie town and province and would there be any di ...

Hello, We are two couples traveling in Laos/Cambodia from Dec 15th to Jan 7th. We were hoping to stay in Koh Rong Samloem for a couple of days around New Year, but it appears every decent place is booked (Agoda, Booking, ...). I would like to know if, a) it is recommended to show up there without reservation as good places might not be bookable on the internet. b) if some other islands/beaches would match up KRS and be less crowded around Jan 1st. We're looking mostly for upscale bungalo ...

Hi all I was in Siem Reap in Mid November 2012 and the weather was OK - just a strong but brief rainstorm in the afternoon but sunny for the rest of the day. I am now planning to be there the very last 4 days of October and I was wondering what might be the impact of la Nina, which according to some websites has a 75% probability of gaining strength. What is your experience? Do I have 75% probability of finding bad weather all day long? Thanks!! ...

Posted by JGBR on 14/9/2016 at 21:42My husband and I are planning a few weeks in Thailand, Laos & Cambodia in October, and we're a bit stuck on the last week. We will have already spent time in Thailand and are visiting Luang Prabang for Boun Ok Phonsa (in mid October). We then have a week to get back to Bangkok, and would like to get to Siem Reap , but do not want to spend the whole week there. I've heard there is a new bus route from Stung Treng to Siem Reap (via Krong Preah Vihear) now that there has been a bridge added across the Mekong from Stung Treng. It would be a real time saver, but I can't seem to find any info on this. Has anyone taken this route? If so what bus company did you use? We would be willing to pay for a taxi as well. Any info would be appreciated. ...

I did something like that in Banteay Chmaar with a rural community tourism organization and stayed in the same house with a khmer family (I had my own room but shared toilet) and was amazing. I wonder if there is any rural organization that does the same in Tonle Sap lake.. I am not looking for luxury (I can't afford it anyway) but a real experience and to help humble and honest local people, not somebody who has a company and pays little to nothing to their employers. Have you done it or hear ...
