Posted by Gill50 on 26/3/2013 at 09:53

Hi all! I'm backpacking for the first time - at the age of 50 - on my own. I haven't resorted to hostels yet 'cause at £15 a night for a hotel room I can't see why I need to!! : o I didn't use Travelfish to book my hotels, I was recommended another website to use that rhymes with 'Looking'! I've just done the Siem Reap to Phnom Pehn bus journey on the Mekong Express Limousine Bus. Limousine isn't what I'd call it but it had a good engine in it and the air ducts worked. The company name on ...

Posted by newzealand on 10/6/2012 at 21:29

Last year, I met a taxi driver in Cambodia, and as a lone female traveller knew straight away that I was quite lucky to meet him but it's since taken me a trip to India to fully realise that meeting him was unique. His name was Sokha Tun, and he was my driver, interpreter and in many ways a companion who shared stories about his life, his country and culture. Sokha told me he was starting up a homestay, and his humor, trustworthiness, and happy-go-lucky personality left me no hesitation whe ...
