As the title suggests, I'm planning on cycling from Thailand, into Laos and through into Cambodia in June of this year, on my bike, alone, all in just over two weeks.
I'm hoping to take overnight trains to and from Laos border crossings and take boats as transport allows.
Am I way out of touch with reality and making a really bad choice here?
If not, all suggestions/ideas/advice welcome.

I will come from Poipet border crrossing and am going south in Thailand. I want to avoid heavy traffic as much as possible. Is it a good idea to cycle via Ayuthaya and around Bkk or are there other options?

From research, distance from Bangkok to Poipet (bordertown of Cambodia) is ap 230km. I think I can make it within 3 days on easy cyling. But there seems to be many roads to chose from. I am going on my first longdistance biketrip starting in Luang Prabang,Laos and going trough Cambodia and Thailand.
My greatest fear is a traffic accident. What is the best thing i can do so that any hospital or anyone else who might need to take care of me knows i have an insurance and then can pay for any service provided. (considering i am not able to communicate)
(I am about to tattoo my insurance data on my body....)
I have an Travelnomads insurance. ...

Continuing my queries, in June I am riding my bike from Chiang Mai to Vientianne, then through to Vietnam via Cambodia. I need to know the best route from Chang Mai to Vientianne. Hello, my girlfriend and I have just completed our SE Asia bike tour and are wanting to sell our bikes. We are currently in Bangkok and will be flying out Sunday.
The bicycles are Vietnamese made Asama brand hybrid touring bikes. One has 700 cm wheels and the other has 26 in wheels. They have fenders and rear racks.
We are both about 5'8" and they fit us great.
We bought them in Vietnam, and have used them as a means for transportation through Asia. They are still in great condition and ...

I plan on embarking on a 16 day bike ride from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh city in December. This is a guided and supported tour. I already have a bike rental squared away with the touring company, but will still need additional bike gear which at the bare minimum includes a helmet. Are there stores in Hanoi that will sell helmets that fit larger heads? What about seat posts and bike gloves? Please advise! ...
I bought a TREK mountainbike 6 weeks ago in Bangkok for 350 euros and would like to sell it for a special, but minimum price of 100 euros! Just because I don't want to give it away and don't want to take it home. I haven't had any problems with this bike, not even a flat! Just let me know if you are interested! ...
My husband and I are about to spend 6 months cycling through S.E. Asia. We have good road maps for Thailand and Laos but not yet for Cambodia and Vietnam. Anyone know of a good road map/s for these two countries?
We would like to stay off the highways as much as possible so the more detailed the better.
We are in Melbourne at the moment so we would need to buy them here or be able to buy them online.
We're cycling from Bangkok to Singapore, a wonderfull, very scenery route! While our idea of cycling through South East was quit spontaneous, we bought our bicycles at Probike in Bangkok.
We cycle mainly on tarmac, this is why we choosed for the Trek FX 7.2, 20 inch (51cm) en 22,5 inch (57cm) in a black colour. I'm 1.75 metre high and my husband is 1,90 metre high. The bandwidth is 700x35 and we're content with this choice.
