2 people, £10,000 Sterling, 6 months. Enough?

Posted by craigfoster on 16/9/2013 at 12:49

So, I've done a tonne of research, everywhere. Forums, Guidebooks, blogs and friends travel experiences, however, i'm still a bit worried that we're not going to have enough money. Me and my partner are going to SEAsia for 6 months (return flights booked) next week. I did plan on having 11.5k saved but I had to leave work a touch early and i'm now anxious. I'm basically posting in hope that you guys with the experience can just reassure me that i'll be alright. We aren't going to get drunk, w ...

Somewhere in South East Asia to recover from foot fracture?

Posted by Chey on 14/9/2013 at 13:03

Hi, My sabbatical leave is starting in mid October. However, I managed to get a comminuted fracture on my foot which I was told would take two months to recover. Even though I should be off the aircast beginning of October, I was told to take it easy till end of the month. Since my company is unwilling to push back the start date of my sabbatical leave, I was thinking of going to South East Asia in mid October as planned and maybe sit on a beach or somewhere relaxing for two weeks. Can someone p ...

Vaccinations - may have made a big mistake!!

Posted by roro1990 on 15/9/2013 at 18:22

Basically i'm going to SE Asia in 3 weeks time. Places I'll be visiting include BKK, Chiang Mai then into Laos, onto Cambodia and back to BKK. I knew I had to get vaccinations for the trip but i've been very busy the last few weeks and completely forgot about them!! I heard that you need to get vaccinations 4 or 5 weeks in advance and I just googled it and it seems I need a lot of vaccinations. Will I need to cancel my trip to a later date so I have adequate time for vaccinations, or can some ...

Itenary help/advice Thailand/Cambodia/Vietnam

Posted by nhopkinsuk84 on 29/8/2013 at 09:46

Hi, Myself and a friend are planning a 3 week (max time we can take off work) trip and hope to visit Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam next April/May. From reading other posts I feel this may be ambitious for the time we have. Things at the moment are very vague of what we would like to do, but so far include Angkor Wat temples/Siem Reap, we would like to visit a wildlife/rescue centre and interact with the animals. The usual 'tourist' stuff ride an elephant, feed a tiger cub etc. We'd also li ...

So Someone Asks 'How Can You Afford That?

Posted by Magpie72 on 22/8/2013 at 21:41

Hello all. I live in Australia and with that great distance to other lands, flights to many destinations are high. As such, I thought for years that world travel was beyond me, Ít's too expensive', Ít must be difficult to organise', and all those things that are not reasons, just very poor excuses. But 3 years ago, I started planning, thinking of how to save money by cutting back on buying things I didn't need and which things I owned that I could sell? I have a job I love but I don't mak ...

I searched the forum and saw that exacto posted a similar question in 2006...so since it's been a while, I'd like to ask again.. What's your favorite beer in SE Asia? and What's your favorite beer in the world? (I'm asking about widely available beers, not craft beers that we've never heard of) ______________ Tiger Beer is my 'go to' beer in SE Asia. I find it smooth and tasty.
