Anyone interested in buying a credit on Air Asia for immediate use?

Posted by ambicoed on 27/3/2013 at 15:36

I am so annoyed with Air Asia. A cancelled flight with them means I have $300+ worth of credit on their airlines that I cannot get a refund for. Is anyone interested in purchasing it? I would sell it for half price and I can email them the name of the passenger(s). it can also be used for multiple flights. Thanks! ...

6-8 weeks in South East Asia - Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand

Posted by mjbeavis on 13/9/2010 at 19:11

Hi All, My partner and I are looking at doing 6-8 weeks in South East Asia. We know we will be heading over in the Monsoon season but because of our timing we are prepared for this. Our main issue is weather to go alone or to join a tour/overland group? We know it will be more expensive to do this via a overland tour, but because we are only there for a short amount of time and having an itinerary prepared for us will make things alot easier. Right? Or are there enough resources to allow you to ...

2 SE Asia questions

Posted by federer_fan_456 on 23/3/2013 at 20:34

Firstly I am planning a 2-3 month trip, I am thinking about going to Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand & Vietnam spending about 2 weeks in each 7 countries. I have excluded Burma, Singapore, Brunei & East Timor as they don't seem all that interesting. Is this enough time to spend in each country to see a fair amount of things? Secondly, would 6000 (USD) be enough for flights (departing & returning from Australia, food, accommodation & spending ...

Bus scam from Laos to Phnom Penh SORYA TRANSPORT

Posted by antifa7 on 22/3/2013 at 00:49

Hi all, I live in Phnom Penh in the Toul Kork district. This place is practically a suburb of Phnom Penh, about 10km into the main tourist/backpacker areas. The streets are laid out in a spoke and wheel pattern and it is easy to get turned around and confused about where exactly you are. As well, once you reach my neighborhood, you can no longer see the skyscrapers and it is easy to not know what direction is town. For the past week, I've been seeing dozens of backpackers wandering my neighb ...

Planning a trip to SEA and have some questions

Posted by Solius on 8/3/2013 at 06:29

I've recently decided to quit my job and go travelling in SEA. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on things like the best places to go, where to avoid, etc.. and just general tips on travelling as this is the first time I'll be doing something like this so I've no idea where to start planning. A few questions I have off the top of my head: I'm thinking I just get a one way ticket out to somewhere and then just go from hostel to hostel from there? Is that how it works? How much money wou ...

South East Asia - September until Christmas - any advice please?

Posted by tom080181 on 18/3/2013 at 07:29

Hi guys, My girlfriend and I are planning to do some backpacking around South East Asia from the middle of September this year until around christmas time - so for roughly three months. We will have approx £5000 spend plus flights between us. I am 32 years old and my girlfriend is 26, and so we are not really looking for the party scene as such. What we are looking for is to get immersed in some culture, see some amazing sights, great beaches, food etc. We like the look of the Phillipines and ...

June and July during the wet season- Any advice?

Posted by hayleyd on 6/3/2013 at 13:26

Hello everyone. Some friends and I are planning a 2 month trip through Thailand, Singapore, Bali, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos next summer. However, due to some schooling conflicts we won't be able to start the trip until the beginning of June. I know that the wet season typically starts in May but I was just wondering how bad it will be in each region and if it would even be worth traveling to some parts. If all goes according to plan we would be in Thailand until the later part of June, then ...

Hey all, Been reading these forums for a while and trying to plan my trip around the region. Just wanted to see if you guys have any feedback on my itinerary. I'm trying to strike a balance between covering quite a large area without feeling too rushed. So far the only things set in stone are my flights landing in Bangkok in mid-May and departing from Singapore at the end of June. I'm also trying to plan around the rainy season so doing the beach / island locations first which is why the trip d ...

Four Weeks in SEA - May

Posted by MDAnhorn on 20/2/2013 at 18:06

Hi, I've been reading Travelfish for the last month or so trying to put together a rough travel itenerary together for a trip in May of this year. As I was invited to go with the group (Myself and five others) I do not have complete control over where we will be traveling to, however I'm comfortable diverging from the pack if need be for a short period of time. As of now our group plans to fly into Hanoi Vietnam on the 30th of April and spend about 5-6 days there. We're planning on doing a 3 ...

Hi there, myself and three friends are wanting to travel these 4 countries starting in November. We would be going from Bangkok and finishing again in Bangkok. We would like to spend about 8 weeks doing this, giving us 2 in each country. I've been looking through posts on here which are great but still struggling to place a rough itinerary together - I like to just wing it but my friends prefer to be a bit more organised! Are there any places we should definitely see and is two weeks a good tim ...

3 Months in and unsure where to go next... advice?

Posted by BennyV on 20/2/2013 at 22:24

Hi everyone, thanks for clicking. So I'm now over half-way through my first ever solo trip around SEA, and really enjoying it so far. I've had one month in Thailand (Bangkok and north), one month in Laos and one in Cambodia. I'm now in Ho Chi Minh, and planning to work my way north over the next 25 days or so. My dilemma is what to do next. I have a return flight booked for late March, but I'm able to put it back by up to two months, so I'm planning to extend the trip by at least 2-3 weeks. T ...

Hello everyone. I'm currently "planning" a trip to SE Asia. The thing is, that i'm not very good at planning and usually just take things as they come. As of right now, I'm travelling solo, and I have never gone backpacking before. First things first. I have 6.124 USD/4.033 GBP/4.691 EU to travel for. The flight costs are gifted. I will probably have a little more, but i don't know yet. How far will this get me, and where could i go, for how long. I'm planning on flying to Bankok, but ...

4 Weeks in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia - Critique my Itinerary!

I'm planning a four week trip to SE Asia for our Honeymoon in Oct-Nov. This is the first time we've gotten anything close to four weeks straight for travel, and I don't think it will happen again for a long time. Since this may be our only opportunity for a while, I've been wrestling between seeing a few places but getting to spend a lot of time at each, or seeing a medium number of places but only being able to spend a medium amount of time at each. Right now I think the plan I have leans tow ...
