Singapore to Phnom Penh in 2 weeks

Posted by Draams on 11/11/2012 at 20:57

I'm flying in to Singapore on the 20th of November and meeting some friends in Phnom Penh on the 6th to go rock climbing through Laos and Vietnam over the next month. We'll also duck into Siem Riep for Angkor Wat. That leaves me with 2 weeks to get to Phnom Penh. I also need to organise my visas for Laos and Vietnam in BKK on Phnom Penh (don't want to hold the other guys up who are more organised). Apart from that, freedom! I love climbing, hiking, adventure, and am interested in scenery ...

Posted by laber on 14/11/2012 at 13:12

Hi! I'm landing in Kuala Lumpur on the 7th of January and I should be in Siem Reap at around beginning of February (it's a soft deadline). I was thinking of traveling all the way up to Bangkok (mainly by train) and then towards Siem Reap. I would like to avoid crowds with lots of tourists, and I am interested in meeting locals and enjoying wonderful landscapes, mainly by the sea If on the way there is any place where I can give a hand, I will be happy to skip some stop-overs and remain lo ...

Budget sail trip anywhere in SE Asia

Posted by gottogotoday on 7/2/2012 at 22:48

We are currently in Pai (hard to leave laid back Pai) does anyone know where we could go to get on a budget type sailing trip for a few days? We like to snorkel but we are not divers. We are more than willing to try any of the nearby countries, we just need an idea of where to start. We can't afford $1200.00 for a few days, we were hoping that something exists for a couple of hundred, maximum $300.00 for 3 days. ...

Hi, I'm planning to travel solo in southeast Asia for around 6 months from the middle of January. I don't want to have a strict plan but just have a rough idea of when I'll be in each country to make the most of the weather, and also want to travel over land for as much as possible. 1. Fly into Bangkok around 10th January and travel Thailand (north of the "islands") for around 3 weeks 2. Over land to Laos by around 5th February and spend February in Laos 3. Spend March in Cambodia ...

After Thailand I was planning on going to Cambodia for about 3 weeks, seeing all the sights. I was also then planning to do some volunteer work there. I have started my TEFL and was hoping to do t ...

Do they all leave from near the Victory Hotel? We have been told there are no toilets on one boat, we don't know which one. ...

Hi Everyone, My partner and I are thinking of going to SEA March 2014 for 20 weeks. We are both in our late 20s so aren't really looking for a 5 month long party! We are quite happy, in fact happier, to take the road less trav ...

Hi all, I need your advice. With my boyfriend we aregoing to have some kind of gap half year. Starting 5/12 from BKK. We have somedoubts about our route. So many options to choose, each has pros and cons.Especially weather factor. Is it too cold for mountains in Decmber? (northVietnam and north Laos)? Or in December/January it's not worth to go to Borneo/Indonsesia because of weather? We plan to spend 3-4weeks per country. Any tips are more than welcome. Waiting for your feedback. Option 1: ...

Hi all, I have been reading numerous posts on this site in order to collate this itinerary that my girlfriend and I hope to follow (roughly) starting in March. We have left 10 days at the end in case we stay longer at certain places and also my girlfriend is keen to go to Hong Kong and go to Disneyland, I would not say no to going to a horse race meet at Hong Kong. We have tried not to rush things too much and allow enough time for travel, especially within Laos, and also we have tried to spli ...

SE Asia - 3 weeks?

Posted by Undisclosed on 10/10/2012 at 17:18

Hello, I would really appreciate some feedback. Planning to go to SE Asia for 3 weeks next Nov (super early planning I know, I need something to look forward to!). Laos and Cambodia are musts, otherwise we would also be keen on Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. Keen to do some long walks, and general things (appreaciating the culture, nature etc) that aren't too touristy. But at the same time we are both a bit safety concious and cautious (not sure how to say this, perhaps easier out of our comfo ...

How long should I spend travelling SEA?

Posted by maabee on 14/10/2012 at 06:51

Hi All! I've saved up enough to travel SEA for a year (on a budget!) but was wondering if I should instead cut my time down to maybe around 6 months or less? I could then travel Eastern Europe or Central/South America as well for a few months instead. I'm just wondering if after a few months in SEA I'll be starting to wish I had took the chance to visit some where else. I'm happy to go at a slow pace as time isn't an issue, hopefully I should visit the whole of SEA except maybe the Philippines ...

Hi everyone, I am going to Ghana for a nursing practicum until the end of May and then plan to continue on to SEA for June and possible July with a friend. I am researching itineraries and trying to work out a tentative plan but I am getting overwhelmed with blogs about weather seasons, safety concerns, and the number of places to explore. I am interested primarily in nature, historical sites, and local life but with a taste of faster-paced towns mixed in. I am happy to stay in hostels and eat a ...
