Hello guys. November 2 years ago I backpacked for the first time to Thailand for a month. Really LOVED the country! Went from BKK to Chiang-mai and than buy train all the way down to several island/places as Koh Tao, Koh phi phi, Ao Nang, Krabi, Chumpon, Phang Nga, etc etc. Loved the laid back atmosphere and really disliked Phuket!! Now end of this year I´m getting married probably in Bali, and since we are so close I got my boyfriend ready to go backpacking together in SEA!! Cause I´ve alread ...

We are visiting, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and maybe Phillipines and Indonesia if our money stretches that far. There is no timescale we are very much going to go with the flow, apart from Singapore which we fly into and stay 3 nights (flight is already paid for and does not come out o ...

Hey guys! Need some help planning my route through SE Asia due to the full moon party being on an awkward date (and really don't want to miss it). I have outlined the main locations I want to visit and I don't want to set a particular amount of days per place but if anyone has any suggestions to improve the route they will be most appreciated! Pretty much will be sticking to the backpacker scene with a bit of partying! Travel will be generally overland unless I have stated flight (not yet booke ...

Saigon - Bangkok, itinerary critique please

Posted by pollitoriquito on 4/6/2012 at 15:26

Hi everyone, I will be arriving in Saigon on September 15th to meet my girlfriend who is currently on a solo RTW journey. We will be approx. 1 month in the area and we fly back to Europe from Bangkok. I know it's rainy season, but our idea is to get some quality beach time if possible (some rain doesn't bother us). Additionally we're not big "tourists" in the typical sightseeing, temple visiting, museum-ing sense. We prefer eating and drinking (not hardcore clubbing, however) our way ...

Hey guys, kind of a last minute, spontaneous trip but I will be heading to Southeast Asia: Thailand, Laos, Vietname, Cambodia in mid June (this month) and traveling 5-6 weeks. If anyone has a flexible schedule and wants to be my travel buddy, let me know. I am fluent in Lao so getting around in Laos and Thailand should be a breeze although I would hope to not have to travel solo-lady travel buddies preferred but I am open if you seem safe. May do a background check on you if you're a guy... MID ...

Trekking in SE Asia with overnight stays

Posted by ehartley1 on 25/6/2012 at 07:00

Hello, my boyfriend and I are travelling through Malaysia, South Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand this summer. Last year, I went trekking in Chiang Mai - 3days/2nights, with a tribe stay, elephant trekking and rafting. I really enjoyed it, but would like to try somewhere new. However, from research I've done, i'm struggling to find an area where we could do a similar sort of trek - for example in Taman Negara (Malaysia) and Khao Sok (Thailand), it seems people stay in town and do day treks. Am I r ...

July-October itinerary help

Hi, Me & my girlfriend are flying to Bangkok on July 19th, and back on October 19th. We would like to travel in Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and finish the trip in 2 weeks in the islands of Thailand. (actually we also wanted to visit Nepal but unsure if we have enough time for it). We understand that this is exactly the wet and hot season which is not very recommended but we do not have any other time to make this trip and hope it'll not be so bad. Still, we wanted to ask if there is any recomm ...

SE Asia trip for 4 weeks... help please!

This will be my first time backpacking and my boyfriend and I are planning on going to Southeast Asia (Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand for 4 weeks). I know there's kind of a lot to cover in just 4 weeks, so if there's one country that has to be skipped I'm open to suggestions. We will be mainly traveling overland from country to country because we're both on a budget. We don't have much of a plan yet but this is what I have so far: Beijing to Guilin (train) (stop in Guilin for 1 day) Guil ...

Help on Budget

Posted by HollyN on 13/7/2012 at 02:17

Hello - I am looking at travelling Thailand with a friend in mid September for about 5 weeks. I was just wondering if anyone knew roughly how much I could do this for? We are not sure if we will be doing Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, or just Thailand and the islands. Could anyone help on a rough estimate on each of these so I know which trip will be best? On a budget of about £1000 to £1500 for the 5 weeks if this will be enough? Thanks ...
