4 Weeks from Koh Pha Ngah to Jakarta

Posted by realacefool on 9/5/2012 at 13:49

Hello All, I will be spending 8 weeks traveling in SE Asia in June and July. I will be with a friend for the first 4 weeks, at which point we will part ways when we depart from Koh Pha Ngah. At that point I will continue solo for the next four weeks of my trip. I am thinking of continuing south through Malaysia and Singapore, then cross over into Indonesia, eventually flying out of Jakarta. Do you think that 4 weeks is adequate to travel from Koh Pha Ngah to Jakarta or even Bali? I would love ...

Hi, I am a 20 year old male from the UK and I'm planning to backpack solo through South/South-east Asia in June 2013 for four months. I've been to Germany and France but only with my school and only for 1 to 2 weeks. Most importantly, I need help with my Itinerary as I know very little about South-east Asia except of a few things I've learned online so please treat like a t ...

Hi everyone, My boyfriend and I have decided to take this last minute trip and spend two weeks in South Vietnam and Cambodia. However, we only have around two weeks and I think I am wanting to see too many places. Below is a kind of ideal itinerary, do you think it's too much to cram into 16 days? We can be flexible by a couple of days (still about to book the flights) and we are trying to keep the budget low so will be using river or overland transport (I am more than happy to watch the sce ...

Some general advice for 1-2 week trip

Posted by galois on 29/4/2012 at 09:00

Found this website a few days ago, what a great resource! So, I'll be in Hong Kong for a conference in December and I'm planning to spend 10-15 days traveling around SE asia afterward, on my own. I'm interested in seeing "authentic" places which have not (yet) been completely overrun by tourism. I'm not especially interested in beaches, unless the scenery is stunning. I'm into hiking/cycling. I don't mind roughing it out a bit but would prefer a minimal level of comfort. Given I don' ...

We're interested in the historical aspects of the countries as well as the highlights and a bit of fun! We fly into & out of BKK so trying to do a loop from there involving Cambodia ( Siem Reap & Phnom ...

We will land in Bangkok beginning of June and thought about staying there one night and day and then travel up to Chiang Mai with the night train. Stay there 3 days to do some excursions and move on to Chiang Rai for two more days. Then over the Mekong with the Slowboat to Luang Prapang. We ...

Vietnam visa in Bangkok

Hi, My friends and I are traveling in Southeast Asia right now and need to get our Vietnam visas. We plan to be in Vietnam for less than 30 days. I was thinking we could do this in Bangkok, but then we might need a 60 or 90 day visa. We could also do it in Vientiane or Phnom Penh, but didn't plan on spending a lot of time in those cities. Also, is there any way not to waste a day at the embassy? Is there a reputable travel agency in Bangkok that could handle it? Thanks, Eric ...
