Luxurious Honeymoon 1 month Indonesia: Itinerary

Posted by michachael on 24/1/2015 at 15:05

Hi! I would like to get your ideas for our honeymoon in Indonesia during the +-full month of August. We are not tied to a specific budget and prefer to have luxury but keeping authenticiaty as much as possible (avoiding tourist-traps, big hotels with 1000 rooms that ruin the landscapes, ... ) Basically, the only thing which is booked today are the international flights = Jakarta , arrival Aug 4th & departure Aug 28th. What we like: - Luxury & relaxing (hey, it's our honeymoon!) ...

Help with filling in some gaps on my itinerary

Posted by The8BitFighter on 22/1/2015 at 20:37

Greetings all, I've narrowed down my itinerary for a three week trip, including Malaysia and Singapore briefly. Kuala Lumpur Singapore Jakarta Bogor ? Bandung ? Yogyakarta Surabaya ? Bali I'm particularly interested in seeing how different parts of the world have responded to globalization and modernization. But I would also really like to see the areas OUTSIDE that sphere of influence. Things a bit more local and provincial. So the big cities have been really easy to narrow down, they're on ...

Anti-Malarial precautions...

Posted by TommyKay on 6/1/2015 at 21:38

Hey guys, My girlfriend and I left England in October 2012, traveled Thailand, Laos and Vietnam for three months and took our own supply of Doxycycline. We are now leaving Australia after two years and heading to Bali where we stay a week before exploring the rest of Indonesia. We will be moving on to Komodo and Flores and then maybe Sulawessi before heading back to Bali and traveling up through Java to Jakarta and either fly to Banda Aceh or attempt the journey overland. Time is not an ...

Air Asia crash

Posted by SBE on 4/1/2015 at 07:56

Just surprised there's been absolutely no comment about it on here! I only found out yesterday when my son in France texted asking if I'd noticed anything strange about Air Asia recently, said no but don't have easy internet access at the moment ... he said one crash and one plane overshooting the runway in the last few days. My reaction was WOW....and I made the effort to get to the nearest dreadfully slow wifi to find out more. Nobody else interested in this story on here?? Seems the plane ...

Hi All, I am planning a trip this winter, spending December 2014 in Indonesia. I would love to do some sightseeing like Yoyakarta, Bromo, Iljen, Rinjani, Kinabalu. But Also primarily I would like to focus on the freediving/snorkeling sites. Now, I have been researching past few weeks for the best spots and places to snorkel/freedive. By snorkel I mean going up to aprox. 15 meters depth. Could you please suggest some top spots for this while bearing in mind the budget options, meaning no liveab ...

I would love your input on which is a better choice for such a short amount of time. Should I go to Senggigi?

Posted by denise21 on 9/8/2014 at 23:33

Hi - I am flying into Lombok airport and have enough time for 2 destinations before heading to Bali. I definitely want to go to Gili Air. For my other stop, would you recommend Senggigi on the mainland or going to a second island, Gili Trawangan? For background, I am a female, solo traveler in my 30's. I typically enjoy staying in budget, bohemian style beach huts/bungalows with a cool restaurant or common area where people hang out. I like a laid back atmosphere - not a ton of people, but enou ...

Java - itinierary timing and things missing?

Dear all, we want to fly to Java in November. Our interests are historical/archaeology, landscapes. Total travel would be three weeks max, but shorter is fine as well. here below are our very rough ideas so far. Would be great if someone has some more ideas and can say something about how long we should be staying somewhere. Also, we have no idea on how to get around a place. Ordered a travel guide twice, and both seem to have vanished. Note: we live in a country with close to useless postal se ...

We're coming from Canada so need 22 hours travel time on both ends included in our itinerary (Canadians will do anything to escape winter!). We like off the beaten path and so far plan to spend some time in Bali (Gillis?), Borobudur, and some hiking. Any recommendations on getting around, suggested places in Bali/Ubud (guest house, surf lessons, places for medita ...

Clear water, few tourists

Posted by louiseee17 on 30/8/2014 at 22:32

Hello, My mum and I are traveling to Indonesia this month. After spending a week in the parks in Sumatra we'd love to see a beach or two the last week. I've been doing a lot of research, but there are so many beaches and some advice from first hand experience would be great. We would love a relaxed, scenic beach, preferably not huge resorts lining the coast with clear waters and nice sand (which I assume isn't too hard to find in Indonesia). I live in Thailand and I love the 'non-resorty', low- ...

Sumatra for 2 weeks in December 2014

Hi! My boyfriend and I are travelling to Sumatra for 2 weeks in December, we can't wait. We are both bird and nature lovers and we are very excited to get into the rainforest. Does anyone who has been before have any itinerary suggestions? We realise that Sumatra is quite large, so in order to get the most of what we do see, we should perhaps pick one region of Sumatra. We definitely would like to do some jungle trekking and try to see wild orangutans so we think that the North would probably be ...

Surf & Yoga - recommendations?

Posted by cosmia on 11/2/2014 at 09:29

Does anyone have any recommendations for the best place to go for cheap Surfing & Yoga in Indonesia? I'm at the very beginning of my searching/planning - obviously I've been looking at Bali but I don't want to go and be taught how to be a 'goddess' - I just want somewhere chilled with interesting people, nothing too fancy & expensive. I like a hostel vibe but would probably want a single room, staying a couple of weeks before moving on to explore the area. Any help would be great ...
