Flight Medan-Padang or Padang-Medan

Posted by Harry05 on 5/3/2014 at 07:07

I am thinking about taking a flight from Medan to Padang or Padang to Medan. About this a few questions: * Are only (expensive) Garuda and (cheap) Lion Air flying these legs? Or are there more options? * There is just one airport in Medan for domestic flights, Kualnama (International) Airport? * I might have to sleep close to Medan Airport before travelling to my destination next day, any good (not too expensive) options for that? Thanks answering, Harry ...

Bukit Lawang - Tangkahan - Berastagi - Lake Toba (and maybe Bukittingi)

Posted by Harry05 on 2/3/2014 at 03:48

Hi, My plan is to go to Sumatra soon and more concrete (coming from Medan) to Bukit Lawang - Tangkahan - Berastagi (not shure if this make sense?) - Lake Toba and after that maybe Bukittingi and surroundings. About this a few questions: 1. Read I can reach Bukit Lawang same day arriving in the morning from Medan airport, how much time would I need? 2. Coming from Tangkahan I don't have to go back to Bukit Lawang but best is to travel via Medan to Berastagi (maybe just to sleep if it's not pos ...

Ende - Moni - Ende - Bajawa

Posted by Harry05 on 19/2/2014 at 01:43

A few questions about the leg Ende - Moni - Ende - Bajawa . 1. Planned arrival by plane at Ende Airport is 14.50 PM, would it be reasonably possible to get to Moni with local transport in the same afternoon? How much time would it take? If not some good advice about staying in Ende (budget accomodation)? 2. Besides visiting Kelimutu, other nice things to see in/around Moni? Good budget accomodation there? 3. After visiting Kelimutu early morning and take my time would it be possible to g ...

Visiting Wae Rebo (Flores)

Posted by Harry05 on 13/2/2014 at 04:11

In the beginning of march I will be travelling on Flores, and was thinking about visiting Wae Rebo (weather permitting). Already asked/looked at some websites but saw some agencies asking steep prices about 3.600.000 Rp for the 3D/2N trekking starting Ruteng , or even 5.200.000 Rp for a solo traveller like me. Also saw an option going from Ruteng to Denge and overnight there, look for a guide - trek to Wae Rebo and back in one day, next day an early morning Truck from Denge back to Ruteng. ...

getting to east Bali from east java

Posted by breatheagain on 7/2/2014 at 01:46

Hi - we will travel through Java towards Bali and am wondering if it would be best to get a ferry from Java to west Bali and then a driver from west bali and head east (where we want to be) and see scenery on way or get a ferry from East Java straight to East Bali (is there one?). Any advise would be appreciated - we are fine for time although it would be nice to know long this drive would take - can we do it in a day? also any advice on costs would be great - thank you ...

Gili islands for about a month from the beginning of march?

Posted by Sampan on 3/2/2014 at 22:49

Hi all, I'm looking to get away for some quiet, peaceful island-time and at the moment the Gili islands (Air or Meno) seems to be pretty good options. One important reason being that they seem quite easy to reach (the idea would be AirAsia from KL-Lombok). But haven't been to Indonesia before i have couple of questions; What would the weather be like from around the beginning of March and say 4-5 weeks onwards? (from what i read the rainy season should end around mid March)? Also, Is this pe ...
