I am a solo traveller from Switzerland and plan to go to the Tanjung Puting National Park. I'm looking for a couple people to enjoy a klotok boat tour together. It's not affordable to hire a boat for myself.
I plan to do it in the week from the 21. August to the 27. August 2017 or around this date. Sombody here who wants to do the same ?
My family and I are looking to go away for a week with our 80 year-old grandfather. We are looking for somewhere not heavily touristed, but also not super deserted where we could go snorkelling. We wouldn't want to stay anywhere on Java (too crowded), and hope to stay in a reasonably cheap area with lots of things to do for a family. Also not too long of a journey to get there, and hoping to stay in an area with less emphasis on activities such as hiking or camping (too taxing for our ...
Im currently in Jakarta and would love to go to Sulawesi (mainly Tana Toraja) and maybe up to the island +Maluku as well as to Flores.
Do you know any travel agency which organise tours there?? I will be travelling alone so I prefere to join other tourists.
Many thanks! Im looking forward for your recommendations! ...
Hi, I'm going travelling in Indonesia (Bali and Lombok) in September and was wondering what the situation is regarding International Driving Permits. I have read contradicting advice on the validity of the IDP in Indonesia. Does anyone have any experience of this and know if it is valid in Indonesia. I don't want to waste my time and money getting one if it is not valid.
cheers Ian ...
Is there anyone that can give information about the trekking between Mamasa and Rantepao? According to the lonely planet this is a hike that can be done without a guide but online I can not find any information/blog/description about the trek.
Nobody done this trek and wants to share experience?
Where would you guys recommend for underwater fun? Gillis look good but are there any other spots worth a dip? Particularly thinking around central/east Java or Bali/Lombok.
Dreaming of turtles, though Jaws is just about to start on TV which might put me off... ...
My husband and I will be in Bali for a wedding this October. We'll be in Kuta for the ceremony but have about 10 days afterwards to get out of the city and see some more of the island. After some research, we've decided to focus on the Western side and I've seen less information about this part of the island vs the East side.
We're both active and outdoors-y and love snorkeling, hiking, biking, visiting cultural sites, and laying on the beach reading a book.
This is our tentative plan:
I apologize in advance for this topic being beaten to death, but I have yet to find a clear answer.
Is it possible to extend a 30d Tourist Visa (paid) anywhere on the Islands of Lombok , Sumbawa or Flores?
Our plan is to start a 60d adventure in Lombok and work our way east.
Dear indo travellers!
I am a solo woman traveller, and I would like to go to bukittingi and the kerinci area! I have not a lot of time left, a bit less than 2,5 weeks. My plan is to go tomorrow to Bukit lawang and after that to Padang. My flight is on 14 Juli from bali. I'mnot sure if I have enough time. No idea how many days I need for kerinci..anyone experiences with that area?
I am wondering if it's easy to find other travellers around kerinci to climb the volcano with for example.
Hi, my bf and I are planning to visit Kalimantan for 3 weeks in Oct-Nov. The main reason to go there is to see some wildlife, local culture and enjoy some beautiful beaches. Because we've limited time and will be traveling from Europe we don't want to spend the majority of our time traveling from one location to the other, so ideally visit 3-4 locations. I've been doing research and can't decide if visiting Tanjung Puting National Park or Kutai National Park. Tanjung Puting seems much easier to ...
Does anyone have any solid information on obtaining a sponsor for a long term visa? I have been to the immigration office in Jakarta and the Indonesian consulate in Los Angeles and both basically said you have to find a sponsor who is Indonesian and have them write letter for approval to the immigration office in Jakarta. I have no idea where to begin or how to get one. I a guessing I will have to make friends and ask. Any real information which could help would be much appreciated. Thank ...
Our SkipBo game has seen more countries than fit on toes and fingers but since I'm a total idiot I forgot to take it to Indonesia. The next tree months will be devoid of the game unless someone knows where to find this. So far I tried a lot of Jakarta malls, toy stores and yogya malls, but games seem not typically Indonesian ...
So I'm currently on Java and taking good time. Since I didn't necessarily want to be on Bali for two full weeks however, I might end up at lombok during the end of Ramadan.
Up until now I didn't notice too much of Ramadan, but that was Chinatown Jakarta and a homestay in Cianjur.
I have a couple of questions:
How does ramadan impact general food consumption when I'm in small(er) , less touristed towns? Should I take care of drinking water in public for instance or is it just harder to g ...
Hello fellow travellers!
I need a bit of help. I'm trynig to plan a week in Flores . Before that me and my partner will spend a few days in Ubud, few in Tulamben and few in the Gilis. Then we are planning to take the 4days/3nights liveaboard boat from Lombok to flores ( Labuan Bajo ). With this boat we will apparently see some things already (if all goes by plan but afterall it is Indonesia haha), like Komodo Island. So what to do in Flores with 6 full days or 7 even. Should we use Labu ...
We want to explore flores by car in the next four days by car with driver. And we are looking for two more people that want to join us! We will start at Labuan Bajo and end in Maumere. If we are with four it will cost 850.000 per person. Are you interessted? Give us a text:) +31622004511

Hi TF peeps,
I am thinking of taking a 2-3 week trip through Sumatra in mid June. Looking through TF & other guides, I'm a bit overwhelmed. Sumatra is so BIG.
I am currently thinking of flying into Aceh, with onward travel to Pulau Weh for some diving. But thats flexible as well.
I would like to include lake Toba and a shortish trek to see the orangutans, but would like to see them in their natural habitat and not at a feeding station. Recommended national parks?
Bukitinggi sounds ...
Im off to Thailand & Bali in about10 days. I have a few basic questions. I have read loads on the forum pages so forgive mr if I am overlapping something previously stated.. Here 'tis:
1. water - aquatabs, iodine or boil it? (I have heard about the huge land-fill issue caused by plastic bottles there)
2. rainjacket or umbrella or just get wet (oct & nov 09)
3. take or not take malaria tablets?
4. does Lomotil work well if I get a belly bug?
5. does Air Asia only allow 1 ...
