We will start in the north, at Louang Nam-Tha and continue to Louangprabang, Viang-Vieng and Vientiane. Beside this regular travel, we would like to see some more wild, less-toured, places located on/ near our route. I would be thankful for any recommendation for such places. I am 6 feet tall/1.8 meters. Used is fine. Anyone know w ...

Si Phan Don to....Where?

Posted by mfriedberg on 19/6/2012 at 14:36

Hi guys. So I am spending a max of 3 weeks travelling from Vientiane to Si Phan Don but then I have another week or two to spend. I'm not sure whether I should continue south into Cambodia or go west into Thailand. If I went to Cambodia I would probably want to go to Siem Reap and Phnom Penh but neither of those are particularly close. I also am probably going to have to fly back to the states from Bangkok so it might make more sense to go to Thailand but it doesn't seem like there is anyt ...

I don't know if you get the same exchange rate, or what the charges might be, or if there are any security issues. Can you do them at small banks in the provinces without ATMs? ...

Hi, everybody! I am planing to travel in SEA (Laos) mid.Oct.-mid.Nov.(30 days). I arrive in BKK 15 Oct. The general idea is to stay 2 days in BKK for some elemantary shopping (like toiletteries and some "I love Khao San" t-shirts who will, no doubt, make me very popular among my fellow-backpackers), then head to Laos over N.Thailand. I would like to spend some days in a place like Sukhothai, or perhaps Nan. I wouldn't mind "waisting" more time if I feel like it. Then go ...
