I am an inexperienced traveler that will be traveling with my husband in September of this year, just looking for some assistance with a rough timeline I've put together...Also any additional must sees welcome. In Luang Prabang and Vientiane, do I have a choice to withdraw US$? My guest houses are priced in US$ and am wondering if I need to carry US$ from the states. Also, ATMs at the airport cost more than other's in town? Thank you ...

Hey So I'm i'm in vietnam/laos for 17 days in June/July. The route I'm thinking of taking is about 5 days in Hanoi (including Ha Long). and then up to Sapa and across to Dien Bien Phu and into Laos, eventually to Luang Prabang where I want to do a 6 day trek into the jungle staying with the tribes there (this is through green discovery laos). then onto Vientiane where i have to fly out. i fly into hanoi midday 27 june and out of Vientiane late arvo 15 July. how long should i take to ...

motorbike LP to VV

As part of the trip we will go from LP to VV - but to avoid motion sickness, we will like to do that part on motorbikes. I am flying from Siem Reap to Luang Prabang. I have heard that you can't get a visa on arrival upon landing in Laos if you are coming to Laos from Cambodia overland. But what if you are coming to Laos from Cambodia by plane? Can you get a visa on arrival then, or do you need to get the visa ahead of your flight? Thanks, Andrew ...

I'll be doing a backpacking trip for about 36 days, spending 2 weeks in vietnam and 2 weeks in Laos. Will be heading to Sapa and going back to Hanoi for my last stop in vietnam. Hey all, My girlfriend and I are arriving in Luang Prabang on August 8th, planning to bus it to Siem Reap where we are catching a flight to HCMC on August 29th. We'll spend a couple of days in each of LP, Vang Vieng and Vientiane , leaving Vientiane southbound around the 15th or 16th. We are planning to spend 2 or 3 nights at Si Phan Don, and to leave there for Cambodia around the 23rd.
