Phonsavan - Banna Plain of Jars House

Posted by Ramblergirl on 11/2/2009 at 18:22

This hotel is located about 1 km from the centre of the town, but still a walking distance away from the restaurants. It is a nice hotel, maybe not targeting western tourist as much as Chines one, therefore the English is not spoken by the staff. But we managed! We had a huge room, TV, fridge, very comfortable beds with warm doonas (mid December)and the view to the farm yard and rice paddies. The bathroom was newly decorated with A SHOWER CURTAIN, the only place during our two month trip i ...

As I come through LPB again and again I saw quite some people looking for an opportunity to stay a bit longer... I just met a guy who said he would know places and people who could use some help. Normally this is in fields which Lao people do not know so well. Website creation, English writing, Staff training, Sports and Adventure tour trainers...stuff like that. Another address I cam across was one of the staff of Tiger Trail. www.laos-adventures.com Another Volunteering thing could be ...

New and Underpriced in Luang Prabang

Posted by alohafromjohn on 11/12/2008 at 13:31

I've just finished a very enjoyable two week stay in Luang Prabang, Laos. It was my first visit, and I was lucky enough to find a room at a newly opened hotel, Le Bel Air. The hotel is in a beautiful setting on the banks of the Nam Khan River just accross the "old bridge" from the town. It's super-cozy with just 10 units and an easy 15 minute walk to the center of town or 5 minutes on the complementary bicycles; a great trade for the peaceful countryside atmosphere. The grounds are beauti ...

Natural Sedation and the best beds in Luang Prabang

Posted by simonr on 8/12/2008 at 14:12

New hotel from footbridge I stumbled on this gem around two weeks ago as the hotel was preparing to open. There is an old foot bridge in town which spans a river named the Nam Khan .Walking across one afternoon I looked down to see a huge empty garden facing the setting sun, with some deck chairs and no one around. I am still here! Luang Prabang is a fairly tranquil town and this seems to be the epicenter of its tranquility. The hotel has only ten rooms (in two hectares of land) and even whe ...
