Perhentians Islands updated research

Posted by somtam2000 on 10/7/2019 at 04:18

Hi, Just a quick note to say we’ve updated our coverage to the Perhentian Islands (and also to nearby Kota Bharu ) Also, I'm looking to chat to a traveller who visited the islands, ideally a few times over the years/decades (davelliot perhaps?)... would be for a podcast I'm currently working on. If this person is you, please post here or drop me a line by email and I'll be in touch. Looking to discuss how the islands have changed and so on. Cheers! Stuart ...

Taman Negara to Langkawi or Penang

Posted by Andrewjmarino on 31/5/2019 at 00:43

Hi My general trip idea is KL > Taman Negara > Langkawi > Penang > KL The only problem is that I cannot find any information on getting from Taman Negara (or nearby Kuala Tahan or Jerantut) to either Langkawi or Penang. I could also go to Penang first from Taman Negara and then up to Langkawi by ferry and back to KL overland. I've only seen a few posts about getting from Penang to Taman Negara and that seems to involve a night bus. Thanks for any thoughts Andrew ...

Redang and Kapas

Posted by hebertito on 1/5/2019 at 10:47

I am a scuba diver/snorkeler and have been in the past to Tioman and the Perenthians. Has anyone been to Redang and the Kapas islands and could offer a comparison or simply an evaluation. I just met someone who said the snorkelling on the far side of Redang is "amazing" to the point he did not bother with scuba diving. This always being a matter of "where have you been before"...I would appreciate comments on the matter as it could make an interesting visa run from Thailand i ...

Express boat from Kuching to Sibu

Posted by Trish177 on 21/6/2018 at 04:45

hi, I’m currently in Kuching and plan to travel by express boat to Sibu on Monday. Lonely Planet suggests buying a ticket at least a day in advance, but the jetty is a 35RM taxi ride away (and that’s just one way) so an expensive way just to buy the ticket prior to travelling. My hostel staff say it’s no problem to just turn up on the day. Has anyone travelled that way recently or at this time of year previously and, if so, do you think I should jump in a taxi and get my ticket ahead ...

Train from Chumphon to Kuala Lumpur

Posted by ambersaffron on 21/3/2018 at 01:41

Hi, I am looking at a train itinerary from Chumphon Thailand to Kuala Lumpur changing in Padang Besar. The train from Chumphon arrives at 8:53 and leaves Padang Besar at 10 am. My questions are: 1. Is this enough time to go through immigration and catch the train? 2. Does it behoove me to book theses tickets I’m advance online or is it easy to book at the station as I am travelling? Thanks for any input! Amber ...

Does anybody know any other title? Thanks in advance! ...

Posted by lp4eva1 on 20/6/2017 at 17:55

Hi all, I'm travelling to Malaysia in August and spending 9 days in Langkawi , but really struggling with accommodation choices! I'm looking to split my time in 2, 4 nights where I can explore and be close to things (I'm planning on visiting the Marine park for Diving weather pending) and the final 5 nights somewhere quiet and relaxing, where I can laze on the beach and/or check out rainforest. Not a big party person, so looking for a chilled out vibe, preferably with minimal children around. ...

As dedicated foodies, the owners are always willing to share their vastknowledge of Malaysian cuisine and places to eat in Georgetown, from fine diningto street food. Located very close to some kopitiams and close the Kimberley St. nighthawker street food zone, you don’t have to travel far for ...
