I am planning to go to Langkawi in November and am just about to book my flights and accomodation.
I am looking for some kind of beach bungalow type of accomodation ranging up to 250 Ringit. Not too far out from civilasation and not really in the big mess of Pantai Cenang.

I have 3 weeks (full travel time) in total but also would like to see Thailand (parts) and Siem Reap.
I know this is a lot in 3 weeks (I'm used to traveling for a year at the time so I guess I still have to get used to only having 3 weeks )
I do plan not to plan too much, so I am kind of flexible, but still believe if you only have 3 weeks, a bit of planning is a necessary evil... ...
Does anyone know about getting by bus from Sandakan to Mt. Kinabalu? The guide book says the express buses from Sandakan to KK will drop you at the turnoff to the national park; is it much of an ordeal to get from there to where the accommodation is? We plan to stay somewhere outside the park for the night, before going on the climb.

Our original idea was spending a few days visiting Melaka and KL (after Singapore) and then move to some island on the east coast. Unfortunately we've just discovered that it is monsoon season on the east coast, and many resorts and places will be closed in ...

I have a question regarding both Perhentian and Tioman : how busy do they get in September?
I have done a quick online search, made a few phone calls, and it seems most budget places (at least the ones mentioned online) are booked out.
Do you think I could still just go to Tioman or Perhentian and find accommodation, or is that a bad idea?

Hello all. I am pretty set on spending around 4 days in and around Bario in the Kelabit Highlands in the middle of October this year. I just have a few questions.
1. How expensive is it for a solo traveller compared to other parts of Malaysia? Is it comparatively cheaper or more expensive?
2. How much can I expect to pay for a guide per day if I were to take a longer trek?
3. Is bottled water available to be purchased in Bario? I feel like it probably is, but I just want to be sure. If not, I g ...
