Internet in Batu Ferringhi, Penang

Posted by hsoa on 3/4/2013 at 08:35

The place where I'll be staying in Batu Ferringhi, Penang , offers no access to the internet. For work I need to use Skype a few times a week for 2 hours each time. I am looking for an internet cafe or a location that offers WiFi and is reasonably quiet in the afternoon and early evening. I can use either a public PC or my own laptop. The connection speed needs to be enough to support Skype audio. (I don't necessarily need to use the video function.) It is no problem if the cost is relat ...

I'm thinking of going to KL and Meleka around Chinese New Year - From what I'm hearing and reading, things are pretty much booked during this time and a lot of people also leave town. Transport is a mess and many things are closes or overcrowded.I wonder what my chances of finding a couch or an affordable guesthouse are around this time? I usually never book a room in advance, but maybe this time it would be a good idea. I was thinking of arriving the around the 3rd or 4th in Kl by night train ...

Hello! I'm going to be in peninsular Malaysia for 7-10 days at the end of March. I'm planning to see KL, Penang & Melacca, but I also want to get out of the cities and see the Highlands. I've heard a lot about the Cameron Highlands - but is it too busy and touristy? How does it compare to the Genting Highlands & Fraser's Hill? I'd be looking for somewhere to chill out for a couple of days, with some walking and nice views - would they all fit the bill? I'm also keen on some more stre ...

http://www.lbah.com/word/wildlife-photography/ The web site is from a veterinarian that has been to Camp Leakey 2x. His photos, especially of baby orangutans at the rehabilitation center are the best I have ever seen. There is even a picture of an orangutan giving the finger! I found this while researching an Africa trip. His web site is the best I have seen so far regarding explanations and pictures of many travels around the world that include nature and wildlife. Since he is a veterinarian ...
