Langkawi to Ko Lanta

Posted by starjack on 11/11/2011 at 19:40

Having struggled to find specifics for this leg of my trip I've put together a summary of to to get from Langkawi-Ko Lanta together with the costs. It is possible to buy an all-in ticket for the journey to Lanta from an agent on Langkawi, but if you wish totravel independently then the following was correct as of late October 2011. As a simple comparison, if the all-in ticket from Langkawi-Lanta costs over 100MYR door to door, then you can doit cheaper independently. To make the journey from ...

Kuala Lumpur's Little India

Posted by mashreki on 10/3/2012 at 22:31

Hey all, I may be spending 2 - 3 days in KL this June, and I had a few questions about the Little India area. It seems like a cool place to hang around/shop/eat, but is it close to transport (especially to/from the airport)? Also, I don't particularly care about fancy accommodation, but how are the hotels/hostels/guest houses there? ...

Alternatives to KL for 24hr layover

Posted by NT1979 on 15/12/2011 at 10:02

Hi everybody. Thanks to Airasia changing my flight times for my upcoming trip in January, I am stuck with a 24 hour layover in KL Airport. Having spent a bit of time in KL (the city, not the airport) in the past, I'd quite like to avoid going into the city if possible this time, but don't want to be stuck in a hotel by the airport either. Are there any good destinations, accessible via public transport/taxi etc from the airport, that are suitable for a short-ish trip. (for info, we arrive at 2 ...

Hi, I have 8 days to spend between Kuala Lampur and Penang. I know that it will take most of a day to travel between the two, so of the remaining 7 days, how should I split them up? I'm not interested in heading to the beach, and I will have already been to Melaka. I was thinking of a day trip to the Batu Caves, though. I was thinking 3 days in KL and 4 days in Penang. Does that sound good? ...

Proof of onward travel: use Ho Chi Minh-Seoul flight?

Posted by sunshine422 on 7/2/2012 at 01:26

I'll be flying Air Asia from KUL to Chiang Mai. There are plenty of stories going both ways about needing/not needing to show proof of onward travel to either the airline or Thai immigration. My question--is showing an onward airline ticket from Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam to Seoul, Korea considered proof (I'm traveling by land Thailand to Cambodia to Vietnam), or does the ticket need to be specifically out of Thailand? ...
