Currently in Sumatra, flying across to Penang on Tuesday. We've got 8 weeks in Malaysia before we fly from KL to Bali and spend a month in traveling Nusa Tengarra. We've got to be in Sipidan on the 5th September for a week.
Our rough plan is to spend a month in Peninsula Malaysian. Penang, Perhentian, Cameron Highlands, Tioman, then KL to Tawau in Borneo, spend a week diving then spend 3 weeks in Borneo and then fly out of Kota Kinabalu or Kuching.

Just fyi, the KTMB online train ticketing system is online again after months and months of upgrades and it's much improved! Just register with an email address then you can choose your train, class, and even the exact seats you want. Pay with a credit card and then print your tickets at home.

As I plan to setup a budget hotel around the KL airport and rent out rooms to those who wanted fly the next day (as a cheaper accomodation to overnight and avoid long journey / rush to airport from city) at less than MYR80 per night (cheaper as compared to hotels in city).

We are travelling to malaysia for 2 weeks between 14 august and 28 august and wanting to stay for 4 nights on the Perhentian island (besar) and are having trouble finding any vacancies. We have been offered one room at Coral Reef Resort with a disclaimer that its near generator and is "a little bit noisy". Has anyone stayed here? Is it bearable noise? I am planning my trip to visit a friend in Singapore so far the plan looks like this:
- Arrive in Singapore on August 10th, Stay in Singapore for the weekend
- Travel to Malaysia on August 13th, Do a 3 day Jungle trekk in either endau rompin or teman negara but probably the later.
- Meet up for the weekend August 17th till 19th with myfriend on tioman to go diving
- I am not sure yet what to do after that, maybe go diving on another beach, do another trekking tour, open for suggest ...
Last year I rode a motorcycle around Vietnam as a backpacker (purchased in Hanoi and sold again in Saigon) - the system they have there is very organised and there are a lot of people doing it. I Spent 3 years of my early childhood living in Borneo, and have always wanted to do something similar there or at least in Malaysian Borneo - is this possible? Where would I look for information? And has anyone done it before?
